China Portals - New Roller with Portal Axles

Hi,
new and maybe of interest, lets wait for the first reviews ;)

Full Metal Aluminum Carbon 1/10 4WD for AXIAL SCX10 Portal Axle

Walter

Another blatant Axial SCX10 copy made of blingy looking materials that are probably low in quality. Buy this stuff and buy twice, when you want a good product.

Why buy rip-off products?

People put their time/money into designing/producing trucks for us of good materials with product support and spare parts. Support the people/companies that actually do for us and care about producing good quality!

That transmission looks AWFULLY high. I might still be new to crawlers, but even I can tell that COG is going to be WAY too high.

That looks like a regular old scx10 3 gear trans with a spur gear cover. The motor sits quite low in it actually

No idea what inner axle shafts they use, or if they have serious weaknesses in the gears.

Axial kinda borrowed that transmission design anyway.

No different than the multiple other manufacturer’s offerings Vaterra, HPI, G-Made, Element, RedCat, Traxxas, Vanquish, SSD, etc...

Does Axial offer a ladder framed rig with portal axles?

Would I buy it? Probably not.

But I don’t see any real issue with it.

What kills me are the bumpers - which is the front and which is the rear?

Seems that they are giving you a pair of front bumpers, one that would work well for a Defender, and one for something like a Jeep:

Took me a few minutes to notice that stinger bumper is on the rear [emoji23]

Dang, you're right. This whole time, I thought that was the front, based off where the fuel cell is located. I just zoomed in on the photo, and realized the steering link is at the opposite end. You know what else is at the "opposite end"? The manufacturer's brain (or, lack thereof).

Has any one bought one of these chinesium bumper stingers? Can they take a hit at all or do they just deform?

They offer you 2 front bumpers, you just have to choose yours and not use the other.. or create/buy a new one of rear...
