Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score)

Just arrived got a run out of it so far with stock electronic and it's quite zippy , servo sucks ...Next to change connector to Dean and run 2s 35 c

Update ...Two min with lipo and steering servo don't work just makes noise ...So gone install the other servo I got and possibly my other ESC plus receiver . .. Otherwise quick enuf on stock motor and 2s

Has anyone try to mount the servo in a standing position . Thinking of doing this for more space also gone run 1060 hobbwing ESC with Traxxas receiver.

Got my Mamba Micro X today! It's definitely spunky just on 2S. It sounds like the spur gear makes some pretty good noise at higher speeds, but no amount of adjusting the mesh would quiet it down, so I'm not sure what the deal is there. I did notice that the pinion had a VERY small amount of lateral movement through the rotation, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Hasn't caused any issues or noticeable wear, though! Just a little annoying.

Nice setup, seems maybe you're using larger 1/10th scale pinion gear for 3mm motor shaft diameter instead of 2.5mm shaft, therefore pinion is slightly off center resulting in gear noise. You'll eat the plastic spur gear and motor and input shaft bearings will wear out quickly.. "thumbsup"

Metal prototype is on the way, and more info will be coming very soon.

If the rest of the 'dupont' plastics have held up to the brushless and 3s abuse then a delrin may suffice.

Delrin would end up being more expensive than the Steel I will be using for this. The pic is a little deceiving, as that was printed with a proprietary plastic from a 3D printer (not any of my machines - not a filament based system) and it looks a lot like the white plastic that the yeti comes with, but is a lot different in material properties. Just for fun, I plan on running it with this prototype just to see how long it lasts before grenading.

Will it just be the locker or hole axle out of Steel?
It Looks like the hole thing could be made in one piece [emoji41]

You will have to just wait and see

The whole thing could be made in one piece, but I don't know that I could get the gear teeth good enough. And, one piece designs are usually more expensive, and I hate paying to replace a one-piece part, when it could have been less expensive separate parts.

Recieved my rock racer version about 90 mins ago. It drove a few ft and stopped. I figured the included battery was too low voltage. I have a few small packs I had pre charged waiting on just a dean's plug swap. After the plug swap, same thing, made it a few feet and it stopped. I could still steer at this point. I let it sit there for a few mins while I looked in the manual... it twitched the steering on its own, at this point I lost steering control on the transmitter. I started calling axial, while waiting on hold the car took off on its own, I had to disconnect the battery. While talking to the tech, I plugged it in again. It would twitch the steering every few seconds, then I saw what looked like an amber led start glowing not far from the red led on the reciever. But as the smell of burnt electronics hit my nose, I realized it wasn't an led:( so I get to ship it back, pretty bummed atm, I hope they don't hassle me over the dean's connector...

And to add to my post. I'm not mad at axial (at least not at the moment) I understand electronics can be faulty. I'm hoping that they make it right and I'll be able to just deal with upgrading the servo. I've had a lot of rc's and this is the first time I've experienced a failure literally right out of the box. I'll post up what happens after I hear back from them.

Is it going to be metal shafts or just the locker had to epoxy my rear shaft into the locker refuse to pay 28 dollars for one rear shaft that lasted all of about 5 mins

I wonder if they'll run on those really low C rated batteries for transmitters.
