Szczerba's Montero

very nice kit

Loops Model makes alot of cool parts. They have a Facebook page in Czech/English but you'll have to translate their webpage.
The dash parts are thick, kinda heavyweight plastic while the bumper and bumper topper is thinner, lighter plastic with a rubber coating of sort.

That is one hell of a nice truck

Thanks.

While out in the Reno area, I stopped by CKRC and picked up some Dinky RC goodies. And I just placed an order with Dinky for a few more interior items.

Looking good! Liking those RC4WD BFG's & wheels with the body. Excited to see where this goes "thumbsup"

Thanks.

Installed the Dinky RC rear cantilever setup.

Welded some tabs to the Dinky R/C TLT 4 Link mount. Ill have to play around with shock to 4-link turnbuckle lengths.

Is flexy, will need some limiting straps.

If someone were to nitpick it, they could say that those wheels are the wrong bolt pattern since Paj's and Monty's used 6 lugs :ror:

It is going to be interesting though with that interior, can't wait to see what you come up with. What are your plans for clear windows, just sheet lexan?

I really have no idea why Tamiya didn't make a Montero body as well as the Pajero. That's absolutely killer! I'll be following this!

Body work goes to bonards29. See link in first post. Loops Models from the Czech sells the montero body based off the Pajero as well for a decent price n

I am not familiar with alot of 1:1 running gear, so I have no clue. Haha. I just like the look of the wheels on this rig.

Honestly, the swapping out the front glass with a clear piece is what us holding me up. That and my other 4 projects I am working on.

I am not sure what to use up front. Any suggestions, pics or links to what others have done? Ive searched a little bit but not alot.

This is coming along really well! Love scale builds like this! "thumbsup"
Can't wait to see this finished interior. I had to do the same with my cabin cruiser windshield and my Audi Quattro which had quite an arch. A good hair dryer and patience is a virtue, it's not as difficult as one might think. They came out fantastic. The material in the link is prob. a better bet though.

I probably should clean up the garage sometime too.

I am balancing this build with a jeep build, a TTC truck build and a brushless gimbal setup build for my iphone.

I'll probably hold off on the Montero work until I get in the windshield material so I'll know where ill need to mount the dash, etc.

I have been debating an interior cause it is going to add more weight with these molded interior pieces. But I guess I will do it for the sake of scaleness. Well, as scale I can build it.

That's understandable, I'm in the middle of a JK build myself. Both my TF2's interiors added a noticeable amount of weight, thankfully it was more toward the front of the truck so I can use it to my advantage, to a point. Seeing as your Montero has such a scale 1:1 appearance, it's almost a crime not to show off a detailed interior . Either way I'm sure it will look fantastic.
