Skaldiddog's "Progress"

I am looking for grab (inner) without snag (outer).

True dat"thumbsup". I tried a completely bare sidewall set of Rovers, like many guys run, and found that I want a little more grab when using the inner sidewalls to pull up.

Good idears rot thar I tell you wat.

Everyone was looking for the best way to shave sidewalls, now we are trying to put them back on... :ror:

I think the shaving, specifically losing the stiff and bulky lugs (sedonas) is still a very valid process to soften the sidewalls and get them to fold more. I know I've been in spots where I wished I had a little extra bite specifically from my sidewalls instead of them just spinning. I imagine this maybe would have done the trick.

That's the hope. I'm wondering if I can slowly walk or extend the hangers from being purely sidewall to partially overlapping the tread bed. I'm interested to see how they evolve. Downside is that each step burns 2-4 tires. Oh well. Development cost.

Hangers work

Quick update. After a pack on some abrasive and some slick rock they held up fine. None tore off. Leading edge still square. Big difference in ape-hanging climbing ability. Not that much of a surprise going from no lugs to lugs but I had to run the experiment. Now for some longer term testing to make sure no nasty side effects emerge and to see how they perform as they wear.

That's a good idea! I have never liked the idea of everyone shaving the front inner sidewalls off. All my tires have all the sidewalls shaved except the front inners. I use my front inner lugs all the time reaching verticals. This is one of the reasons I have not jumped on the voodoo bandwagon, but after seeing this I may give them a shot."thumbsup"

The Couch of Eternal Worthlessness

Man I wish I was a dog some days.

Since I'm not a dog I did what humans do and did something with my hands. Got one of those Losi multi tools and as usual couldn't leave well enough alone.
