Yeti XL - First Impression

Sometimes those little crashes put hard force on a part. I hit a stick with my wraith and sheared a futaba servo output. Sounds pretty mild, until I also say it was at 20mph while turning hard on a brick surface with no servo saver. What looked mild was me stuffing one wheel into a stick at full lock and 20mph.

That half speed roll, probably on asphalt or grass? I've half speed rolled an emaxx and broke bulkheads. Catch a tire the right way and something will break!

Nah it happens and I understand that. It just really shouldnt happen that easy. We were out at a dirt dump site left over from a road build. All loose dirt, he turned too hard and it rolled, like i said, not even close to full speed. I just feel bad for the kid. What it boils down to is the same low quality easily broken plastic parts on a rig that weighs a whole lot more. Just like any other of thier rigs I am sure it will be cool as hell once you put double the price worth of upgrades on it.

Wasnt tryng to hide anything. It rolled through a corner about half speed on 4 cell. It was an easy rollover and it shouldnt have failed. We were all pretty amazed and obviously my friend was pretty pissed and dissapointed. Hopefully there will be some quick aftermarket parts out for it, it seems like people will be needing them quick!

It is poor luck but I can honestly say that HPI, Assiciated, And Losi oh and that great POS Revo have all failed on myself within 3 battery packs. The only rig that has proven its capability is the Slash. Probably why I have 2 slash hybrid crawlers. Sometimes I've been amazed at how little of a bump can create a breakdown.
There are spare parts on eBay.

I got to destroy some leaves today. This beast is still running great. It's a screamer and for sure a head turner.

I'm running on two 3S batteries.

After doing some adjustments to the steering trim the servo seems to be fine.
Could you do something better, sure. But right out of the box it works.

I've adapted to the torque twist. It's also not quite as bad on gravel and other terrain.

I would suggested looking at the grub screw holding the pinion on.
Mine was loose initially or became loose and eventually came off after my first run.

Also, you may want to glue / re-glue your tires. Especially the rears.
The torque will pull the tire off the rim slightly after a couple runs.

Overall, I am very impressed with this truck and am very happy with my purchase. No buyers remorse in this camp.

Cheers.
