Hello,

I've always wanted to have a set of spike tires for my 1/18 scale crawlers (RC4WD). I came up with a fairly easy method that exceeded my expectations! I made this video to show the test drive on an icy river and my build details.

I hope this may be useful to some of you living in a cold part of the world! I still have to test those tires on other environments though...

Cheers!

Thanks for your answers guys!

I've been testing the spike tires for the past 10 days and they work amazingly well. One thing I would probably changed in my tutorial would be to cut alternatively the screws at 0° and 90° so it keeps traction forwards AND sideways (the cutting plier inprint a certain teeth shape to the screw ends).

Here is a recent video with the Bronco and its new spike tires on costal sea ice:

Cheers!

... and here is a last video of my trip to Iceland, still with the 1/18 Bronco with spike tires (sequel of the previous link):

Have a good one!
