Why not to buy the PS3

Colecovision.

HE he he, had one of them too. And an Ativision (one of my favorites) Nintendo, Sega, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, PS1, X-Box, and a PS2. Don't play any of them like the O.G. Atari! Although the PS2 is a great little DVD player for my boy!:-P

OK well the funny thing is about all this... the graphics card in the PS3 is an NVIDIA special, it wont be out for comps in any form for a couple of months. And even WHEN it does hit the computer marked that technology wont look half as good as it in the PS3. (take xboxes gforce 4.... look at thoes graphics and look how a gf 4 performes in a computer enviroment)

point made.... graphics can be extreemly different between systems... its all how the core is made and cpu is specifically made for graphics...

NEXT processor...

Ya the xbox 360 as 3 3.2 ghz processors... GHZ DOESNT MATTER!!!! if you know anything about technology lately espically INTEL, you would know that the intel Conroe (2.66ghz version $400) is beating the, TOP OF THE LINE AMD $1100, FX-60 overclocked to 2.8 ghz BY 20%..... now people are stating that the development versions of the new Intel chip can EASILY overclock to 4.0ghz.... amazing...

ALSO take a look at the new intel core duos... Yonah core. thoes cpus at 3.14ghz are WOOPING THE **** out of cpus clocked at 7.1ghz!!!

Point made.... ghz doesnt matter

its really all what technology... the PS3 is obviously of new tech then the xbox 360, and leaps and BOUNDS are takin place in the computer world and i cant even begin to imagine the hookups sony has with intel and nvidia or chip makers in general...

NExt... load times

Ok this is intresting, your right blueray is in its infancy and is slow... but ever take into consideration that mabey the programers have scaled down the file sizes... to be able to cram even more onto the disks...

Also if sony did their stuff right they would keep necessary files in the ram, to act as a hard drive so to say, so the system can load off of the ram which IS WAY FASTER than a hard drive... you probably have never expierenced this in a computer because you probably have never messed with linux and how it manages ram, and there are even some versions that you can boot up to the ram to make the computer feel way fast.

Point made... load times depend on many things.

Next... card reader and ports...

OK well if you want a hard drive sooo bad on your ps3 theres little things called EXTERNAL USB HARD DRIVES... the come in all sizes 3-500gb... eat your heart out... AND you can use them on computers too!!!

Dual monitor support. I think its cool, i run my computer sometimes with dual monitors and its pretty badass, i can be gaming on one and browsing the net on the other... HEY no more split screen 2 player gaming.

3 ethernet ports... obviously you have never heard of clustering, or daisy chaining computers together to make a network or lan... pretty convienent to be able to plug a couple of them together and lan...

Point made.... the ports are a good thing...

Overall i think its a cool thing, and i have always thought comparing apples to oranges was wrong but hey what do i kno.

the next console I buy will most likely be the nintendo revolution, maily for the ability to play all the old school games from teh NES/sega days, and its a BIG IF if I buy it.

i heard earloer this week it will be called nintendo WE, kind of a dumb name, but i've also heard that it's supposed to be better than both the other 2 systems combined...
besides, i don't buy my consoles based on hardware stats, i buy them on which ones haves games out that look good to me and that i want to play!!! i actually own a game cube, and i love it, it has a lot of ganes i'm interested in playing at the moment on it, the graphics are just as good as ps2 and XB1, only downside is the lack of dvd player. which unfortunately get the GC overlooked by a lot of the game devolopers...

and as far as dual graphics cards go, i think they kick!!! i love my PC with two gaph cards at work, being a CAD designer, i can put my model on one screen, and my command box on the other, so i can see MORE than 2 or 3 lines of commands that i have done previously...

my PS2 broke about 2 years ago, good, now I have a life. although if someone comes out with a crawler game I'll consider getting a new one.
