What do you all do with your Spare RC Parts???
Do you save them for random projects later???
Do you sell them at an RC Swap Meet or online???
Or....
Are you like me and end up with so many parts (new&spare) that you get bored one day and slap what you can together just to make something fun???

Anyways, Post what you do with your Spare RC Parts.

I'll go first. Here's my "Spare Parts Monster"...

Hope ya like. "thumbsup"

First I try not to gather them all together in one place and stare at them and consider what they all cost me and subsequently what else I could've purchased for that amount of money.

Anyway... I tend to just sit on parts or send em off to people for free when they're struggling to find parts.. especially when it appears they're on a budget. I honestly like being able to help others out.

That being said, if I was more proficient at selling online, I'd be doing that all day every day. I still have large boxes full of nitro parts, chassis, engines, aluminum and titanium upgrade parts, radios, chargers, etc, etc and I hate that I could've sold a lot of it by now if I had gotten into the whole ebay or CL or FB marketplace thing. For a long time I told myself that I'd get back into the nitro scene but just never did and now I really like crawlers and other RC's that use lipo.

Anyway... That's my story.

EDIT> Will have to check out your spare parts rig when I have more time. Sounds cool.

Boom... got 25 years of crap laying around. I just took down an old nitro on the shelf for 15 years and fired it up... I never throw anything out!

Like OSRC said, "I never through anything out!", that's pretty much how I operate! Every spare and/or unused or used part gets saved into a spare parts bin. Never know when something will be needed for a future build!

I still have spare parts from my buggies from my racing days back in the late 80's and early 90's! Probably won't ever use these parts, but it's cool to go back and look at them and think about the good times I had racing back then!:)

I save some of the most random things lol. I still have two shock towers and the stock battery tray from my first TRX4 over 2 years ago. I know I’ll never use them but for some reason I still have them in the bottom shelf.

As far as usable spare parts, they stay hanging on my parts wall until either they get sold i or I get an idea for them. I have a complete element axle and a set of AR60s laying around I have no clue what to use them on but why not keep them. I also have way too many bodies, but I don’t want to sell them because I have too many build ideas.

I’m basically at that point where I can make a spare parts 8x8

I’m a hobby hoarder[emoji16]

I had tons of spares, uninstalled upgrades, leftover old stock parts from when I did upgrades, unpainted bodies, etc - but lost them all in an apartment complex fire - but that was all well before my crawler days.

About 13 complete vehicles as well...

Several years went by and I started up again, going crawler-crazy, and I actually passed number 13 again if ya include my 4 non-crawlers that somehow snuck onto the list (I thought I wasn't going to get any, and I frankly never drive them).

Multiple sets of new axles (SSD Pro44 & AR60, RC4WD TEQ, TRX-4, Enduro hard plastic) and at least 4 new chassis sets.

What the heck happened?

First round of "build it out of what's lying around happened when I finished converting my TRX-4 to a TRX-6. Buying from part outs, and having
quite a bit of leftovers, I built Rusty, which is pretty much a straightforward TRX-4, only with AR45 straights underneath. He's a goer, even on
those tiny Bounty Hunters.

Then came Ms. Direction, a mash-up of all of the Element leftovers from turning an Ecto into something that isn't an Ecto, along with the leftover cage
and shocks from a Capra (who got converted into a 13.2" WB 2.2 Rupture fitted monster.) It's surprisingly good-- better I think than a stock Capra, really.
It shines on the shorter wheelbase and narrower width.

Most recently is Jake the Snake, again, more Ecto bits, and a set of homeless AR44s that were gathering dust in a parts bin. Fully custom LCG chassis
with a STH Capra skid, Vader 3-gear adapter, and setup for CMS-- which was a bit of a mess to figure out. It's scary good.

I've enjoyed watching this come together on the YT channel!"thumbsup"

Good looking rig! Looks like it performs well!

Until recently I had three very large bins with spare parts. Doing a custom builds, I found these parts handy for making the new parts I needed. Having gained skills in designing and printing the parts I need, these parts, or or less, just collected dust, so I sold most of them off. I cherry picked the parts I wanted to keep, axles housings and such. Now I have three bins of neatly sorted parts, axle assemblies and such, and only parts that's can't be easily/reliably 3D printed.

I always keep any oem parts I take off. You never know when you'll need a emergency part or build up something later. I always end up with aftermarket parts as well from a build and just save it all in the bins. I've got enough parts to build another truck. Just haven't done it yet.
