What the newest cheap servo hotness?

FYI with RPP 15% you can get the Savox 2290sg for $118 through sunday..... But theres only 2 left now :lmao::lmao::flipoff: Smoking deal considering the recent price drop as well

The 959's failure point is stripping the big/output gear. Total bummer as the speed/torque/price were all on point. I'd put mine back in service if I could find a gear set that fits... I already pulled the stop pin and ran the output gear 180° off, stripped that too. I think I got about 1 month of daily use out of it in a ~7lb 1.9 tire'd Wraith.

Tonight I stripped mine on first rocks I crawled up. no second hole in this one tho. Same gear you're talking about tho. sent a message to hobbyking. We'll see how that goes. Guess I need to just bite the bullet and get that PM470 I've always wanted.

Get the PM.

You won’t ever go back.
Smooth,quiet, bulletproof

I'm about ready for a hi-torque with bec too, the 300oz/in servos stall out in the rocks. Can be annoying on highly technical tracks.

Thanks for that I got one of those 2 with a bec for under 140. It's still sitting on the shelf till I decide which rig needs more power.

Awesome! Yeah, I got hooked on these last year after seeing the posts by Ryan (White Trash) and trying one out, hes always got hardcore parts in the crawling scene so I took his advice. I would like to try the PM 630 and a g13 some day but between my Holmes and 2290's I have been more than pleased so far "thumbsup""thumbsup"

The DS3218 from Ali-Express is coming up on sale for $6.59 - get 'em while ya can. ;-)

These work fine in all of my 1.9 crawlers with the exception of my main comp-crawler, the one with all the mods that I run in comps. It's just not strong enough when wedged in between rocks. This poor rig gets just hammered.

Thanks for the heads up! Been wanting to get a couple of these to give away on my channel and one to give making a internal spool servo winch a try. Thank you! "thumbsup"

Let's see what the sale actually produces - it starts Friday I think, or something.
I just tried to add 3 to my 'cart' and they were still $12 and change. Still a deal, but $6 and change would be a STEAL-DEAL.

I'm down to one left - 4 of my 5 rigs have them, the latest is the TRX4 sport kit - was nice to have one with a alloy horn on hand. I had a extra HW1080 on hand as well - they were on sale for like $35 not that long ago. "thumbsup"

Thanks for the heads up on the sale. Got them in 2 of 3 of my rigs. It'll be nice to grab a few spares

I have the homes v2 shv, had a holmes v1 shv and a g13, I cant tell the difference on them. except the holmes v1 broke more, of course it also had a pretty hard lifethough.

I guess this is a false alarm - I could not get the $6+/- price to come up - still $12 and change. Oh well.

according to the page it doesn't start for another 8+ hours, which is strange because yesterday I swear it said there was 18 hours left. Maybe they're only releasing so many per day or something?

180° or 270° doesn't really matter in our application. I think I ended up with a 270° ds3218 in my Slash.

This. Your radio won't push it any further anyway. So either works. They're for robotics. And a 360* version for some as well.

I tried the link again today and still $12 and change. I'm just not seeing why they're advertising a $6 price. Maybe if you buy a hundred of them. LOL

There are a lot of others on there too - a 25kg/cm that looks interesting - 2.7ah on stall, metal gears. Might be worth trying a couple of them.

Only matters if your controller sends the right kind of signal, which doesn't happen with land vehicle transmitters...

My Ascender runs the 270deg.

I'm trying out the DS3218-Pro version next, in my TRX-4.

I didn't even notice there was a "PRO" version, good find! to compare:

ds3218: 18kg/.16s @ 5v, 21.5kg/.14s @ 6.8v

ds3218 pro: 21kg/.12s @ 5v, 23.5kg/.09s @ 6.8v

My only complaint was that the 3218 was too slow (seemingly slower than advertised) for anything faster than a crawler, so this new "pro" version looks to address that nicely. I'll have to pick one up and trade it out for the normal version already in my Slash.

When I checked it the other day, the only $6 option was for just the horn by itself. I've seen China sellers do it a lot on ebay too, it's a scammy way to get to the top of the list when sorted for lowest price...
