What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

Marc! Been a minute. How’s the ratty truggy coming along?

Ratty truggy is currently on hold. Lots of background stuff going on preventing me from getting to it. It will probably just sit for a while until everything slows down. Thank you for asking how it's been going.

Got a break from the rain and ran my Bronco today with some new additions. Finally bought the SSD rear bumper to match the SSD front bumper and painted them and the sliders in Krylon satin black. I opted to trim the rear fender where it meets the bumper at a little more of an angle because with the new SSD bumper being tucked up higher than the stock one, it just didn't look right for the body to be hanging below it. I also added a custom made rear license plate. These are the same identical plates that I ran on my full size jeep for many years. A front plate will eventually go between the windshield and [future] dash to keep it out of harms way.

Oh, and I also finally got a driver for the Bronco! I'm gonna toughen him ( or her?) up a little bit so just wait till he ( or she) ages! A cutie nonetheless.

I picked up a used defender and the rear part of the body ripped when the glue let go on the pick up box he made so I improvised. Threw some parts at it, cut the body apart and this is where I am at so far.

Terrifyingly awesome driver there HPD. The bronco looks great and the ssd bumpers fit perfect in there. I like.

I got the Comanche out this weekend for some wheel time. Went back to hyrax instead of the KLRs and was reminded of how killer a tire they are. Probably going to stay on here now. Clip below on the tube...

Hmm, some interesting mating there Puter.

Got out for a shakedown yesterday after moving the battery and adding a little weight. Not what I was hoping for so back to the drawing board. Snapped a couple good pics though.

Did a little testing after I moved the battery to the stock position. It's too high and it's too heavy in the front for my taste. Probably around the 70-30. I put it right around 60-40 now. Works much better.

Thank you :)
But I'm thinking of "punishing" myself to not open the box before finishing at least one of the bodies I have been working on for a couple eternitys now.. :p

Now THAT is kit-bashing. ;-)

Nice dog. LOL

Got my DSM kinetic recovery strap on and also some recovery boards. Then I drove the rig to the backyard trails and worked on them a bit and tested some lines and features. I ended up benching in the high line on my sidehill trail and left the lower line for sidehilling action. I may have gone a bit pic happy in this post, but it's just so damn nice to get out again after all the work travel I've been doing and finally some nice weather!"thumbsup"

I'm pretty stoked too about how the course is developing. I've got all the lines knocked in at this point and now just need to start adding my rocks and features. I also cleared up my older, existing stuff closer to the back of the house.

Topped the evening off with a cold beer too!

Dont got a picture of it yet, but I'm taping it up, masking it so it will be ready for the contrast color on the Raptor body.

Finally got the body painted and assembled:

Used Duratrax Pearl White followed by their Bright White. I thought it actually came out surprisingly well for my first RC body ever. For some reason the pearl dripped from the can a little but luckily on the roof(which is covered by the rack) and the bed(which i painted over with Plastidip)
