Figured I'd toss this here instead of making a new thread.
Not too much difference in my opinion but just hearing him click the diffs on and off has be rethinking my whole existence. I love just being able to do something, whether I need to or not. Having the ability to switch your diffs open or locked is awesome to me.

That thing looks to be Bad. Ass. Body does nothing for me but the rest seems cool. Interesting how well they will stand up. I think Troy should let us all try his lol

Where'd you order from? I ordered from RPP on 5/2-they say late June, Tower claims early June....I was thinking of canceling and reordering from them....

Did some comparisons between the SCX10 II and the TRX-4
The TRX is quite a bit larger, and heavier.
The Body (stock with tire and scale bits) is 1lb 14oz. Nearly 2 lbs!
The chassis is 6lb 4.9oz with weighted wheels 4oz in each
TOTAL weight is 8lbs 2.9 oz!!

The SCX10 II
Body 1lb 1.1oz with scale bits and lights..
Chassis 5lbs 3.3oz with interior weighted wheels 4oz in each
TOTAL weight 6lbs 4.4oz

The top photo shows a SCX10(13.25 WB) TRX(12.8?) and SCX10 II(12.3) all pressed against the wall. The TRX is very long!!

Other photos are just for fun, showing the new electronics I put in.
Never even used the stock wheels, servo, esc, or motor.

ESC: Castle MMP
Motor: Toro 2500kv 550can 4 pole
Servo: Holmes Hobbies HV400

6x6 build is finally happening. here's 10 hours of my life. One motor has a pinion driving another pinion, then to the spur gear. Both spin the opposite way of each other. I hope this was all worth it. Its made from stuff I had kicking around. I managed to get the shaft out of a armature to put the 2nd pinion on. Some carbon fiber plate from a old chassis . A emaxx motor plate. and some bearings from a old clodbuster counter leaver set up I had kicking around. It spins over nicely. But until I get the thing mounted I wont know what its going to do under load. I hope that this will help with torque twist.

Can you elaborate on the reasoning for the double pinion setup? Seems like the pinion from the motor is touching the spur..? The second pinion seems redundant? I assume I'm just missing something. All that effort must have been for something.
 
The pinion on the motor doesnt touch the spur. One motor turns clockwise the other turns counter clockwise. The idea is the motors will torque away from each other.. Instead of the same direction.

I love the thought and effort you put into that, man.

However....
Torque twist occurs between where the power comes from and where the power is sent to.
The motor/gearbox power is pushing against the residual resistance within the u-joints, the pinion and axle shaft bearings, and the meshing of the gears themselves.
Then when you add the resistance from trying to push a rig up a steep slope and you get even more resistance and torque twist.
When rotating power is pushing against resistance, the result is torque twist.

A drill is a perfect example, the harder you push against it, the more you feel the torque twist.
Going motor on axle is the only way to eliminate the side to side torque twist we all experience.
But then again, going MOA changes the torque twist's force to a front to rear or rear to front motion, which presents a whole different brand of torque twist issues.
