What’s Fricker08 working on.. collaboration of projects

Always love seeing a decked out VFD! Following along to see what's brewing!:)

For those of you that guessed I’m building the ultimate cheater moon buggy.. you guess correctly. Got an email yesterday morning saying my chassis is done, hopefully I’ll be seeing it next week. In the meantime, I got both axles built. Now I’m waiting for some monster proline Baja X pro tires to come back in stock

Those Capra axles are a thing of beauty! Have you decided on wheels or electronics yet?

Thanks guys, I’m pretty excited. I’m torn on electronics. I’ve got a few options. Puller pro 2700kv or 1900kv slate with mamba x or copperhead. Brxl with a fresh crawlmaster pro 16t or crawlmaster mini with 1800kv revolver.. seeing as I’m pretty limited on space I’m leaning towards the cm mini/revolver combo. But wouldn’t be opposed to a brushed setup. 2 Holmes shv800’s will be handling the steering and I’ve yet to decide on some shift servos.
Wheels, I’ve got some clear machete’s with black outer and blue delta ifr rings all set up waiting on some tires and lil nova’s

I have dozens of various combos of brushed and brushless ESCs and motors, and I have to say that the BRXL/HH motor is about as good as it gets for crawling. Brushless is nice and all, but you can't beat the feel of the brushed setup by HH. The drag brake is epic, and you can finesse a climb as well as any more expensive brushless setup. Plus, there's minimal programming to be done to optimize for crawling.

After trying nearly everything from Castle, Hobbywing/Spektrum, Furitek, and Tekin, this is all my opinion. I'm sure I've missed a few hidden within builds in my basement :ror:

That said, I'm partial to the Mamba X mostly because I can use the Aux wire to toggle between racer and crawler modes. Most of my recent builds benefit from this feature.

Please let me know if another ESC with this feature is controllable in an instant on your transmitter. I'm ready to try other combos, too.

Them wheels with the blue IFR's look fantastic! Can't wait to see them wrapped in rubber!:)

Thanks guys, man I can’t wait to get the chassis and start figuring everything out.
Casco, I get that for sure. I’ve yet to run a brxl yet. But man the Holmes crawlmaster mini with revolver is tough to beat. To be honest though I like my v1 esc better than the v2. I’ve yet to program either so maybe some programming would help the v2 who knows. But I’m with you on the aux wire. Every rig I have a mamba x in is setup that way.
Tom and Brian, I know.. I can’t wait. I really liked the 101’s with the same ring combo but I think the machetes take it

That is a beautiful collection of parts. She is going to be a stunner. I am surprised you are not considering a 2 in 1 esc/motor for the moon buggy. Seems the kind of project they were designed for.

It’s not so much that I’m not considering it, but everything else I mentioned I already have on hand.

Ah, i hear that

I look forward to see it come together. My dislike of the Capra cage has always kinda been the proverbial monster at the doorway...

Big day today, the chassis finally arrived after what seemed like forever. The JE designs lsx 454 also showed up today, surprised both of us. This things going to be so sweet when it’s all done, I cannot wait.
Smog you might be on to something with the 2n1.. may have to grab one or try to do some bartering. Space is definitely limited, and the engine takes up where the battery is supposed to ride. Minor details.

I’ve got some other things going on also, I ended up selling/trading twade984 my straight axle phoenix kit I had a mullet build planned for. So I figured I’d just use my portal kit.. well it along with my scx6, some wheels and a mound of money are going to a shelf queen. I’m not one for something to sit on the shelf but I do believe that’s where this next rig belongs.

Lastly, I’ve still got the orange distinctive pd truggy chassis, so I’m going to do some body work on it. Give her a fresh paint job and I’ll be swapping my f9 Capra over to it. Stay tuned

I'm just going to sit here and drool for a bit... The kit in-progress with that stunningly detailed LS-X AND the incoming shelf queen are worthy of the chef's kiss.

The ls-x fits beautifully in there. What a cool look that is, soo nice8)

Thanks guys, I’m stoked on everything going on here. The speedy moonbuggy isn’t off to the best start but I’ll get there eventually. Had to order some more parts.. guess we will see if it really is a direct swap for a Capra. I got some incision Capra links on order
