VS4-10 Phoenix/AD GroundFox Build

I agree with @durok! Very nice! The build is looking fantastic!

I'm loving the color! It's almost a perfect match to my '07 Tacoma in Impulse Red Pearl.

Thanks B-Mow! That's sick you have a fullsize 2nd gen. Loving the color too, this one is probably a bit darker maybe? we'll see in daylight!

Contemplating how and to which extent to fill this bed. Battery has to go behind the seats I think.

That driver figure is very proportionate... I don't mess with interiors and drivers, but that's mainly because I'm a bit lazy.

For a truck that scale, I can understand going all the way!

Sweet scale detail for a comp rig - a VS4-10 on steroids. A shame to waste this one out with rollovers on the rocks. I have a 1:1 Chevy with paint very similar, Toyota Ruby Flare Pearl. Dark & shadowy in the shadows and pops in the sunlIght. Sinister
Also have a suv with the Demello bumper - super bueno. I like your style.

Funny that you should mention it.. because I faked it a bit ehehehe

Proportions no more...
I stuck MacReady/Kurt's head on a Star Wars fig (Lando) that's a bit smaller. This is the best thing about that Kurt figure: tree different heads (and sets of hands). I might throw a hoodie on him and put the hands that match the head on there

I used to not care at all about driver figures.. mostly didn't like them because I wanna see the truck move in a realistic way - and the figs are kinda dead in there.
But I kinda like putting NECA classics in there. I'll kick him out and tint the windows if the truck flips too much.

Was even thinking about making a super light dummy body somehow..

Thank you! I really appreciate a compliment about style; and that was a nice way to put it: it's a bit dumb maybe - throwing supergloss style on the rocks and working against the LCG.. the rollovers will be painful, but I really want to see the difference in performance between a hardbody scaler and a lexan/comp chassis but scaled out. My reference is my BRX01 (which climbs really well), and the VS410 Phoenix how I built it first (Jeep Hardbody). Excited to try it.

I will have to try the chassis out in a more class2 type outfit eventually, and have a plan for it, but actually thinking about throwing a chopped body, some TRX4 shocks and those 4.45" rockbeasts on it and entering my first ever comp on sunday[emoji51][emoji51]I just found out about it!

Very pleased to be touching soil today.. got some tuning to do but I'm so stoked to have eliminated the knocking inside the tranny. Everything is smooth for the first time! Not enough rocks behind my house, but the tires seem grabby. Finishing touches coming soon

Still missing a few things, like a rear bumper.. one doorhandle, wipers etc..
But you get the idea!

I like everything about it and completely agree with the color choice, I have 3 body’s in the same/similar color and current 1:1 truck in the same. My first new car was also the same.

Thanks all you guys! Working on sewing it up properly..
really scratching my head about the inside of the bed, realising I don't know what the real truck looks like under the panels. Stoked to work on it now, after the test run was so nice

Got the interior sitting right with the battery, mounted the power switch on top of the steering servo so it's accessible. Still missing some stuff, but it's really moving out there.

Great pics out in the wild! Looks soo good!

The color is very similar to my life size 2nd Gen!:)

Workin', dragging mud into the house. Emblems. Started cutting some material to make rear inner fenders, TBC

Been chopping a little, don't really know if I like the silver diamond pattern sheets for the bed. Kinda just trying it on for now, rough draft. The truck crawls so good now. Really fricken capable for running 3.9"
Tires and 80mm shocks! Maybe a little on the slow side, running a 13T pinion, 3S.

Broooo truuuuuck [emoji23]

I dig it

Love this build. The diamond plating in the bed isn't necessary but it does look good if you want that contrast/bling in that area. Makes the bed easier to catch the details of it if you will.

I have the other 2nd gen Tacoma body (TRD Pro) on 4.19s and as much as I love the wheel and tire combo on it, the tires rub more than I desire and I don't want to cut any more off the fenders or raise the body. So I may also run 1.55's on my rig as well.

Thanks man. Nice rig! My wheels are 1.9". What about trying some smaller tires on those rims? The Pro-Line Krawlers or like the RC4WD Dick Cepec Mud Country. These JConcept Tusks (3.9")seem really grippy, but I only bought them because I didn't have patience to wait for the Krawlers.

I didn't realize those were 1.9's also! The black rim played a visual trick. I'll toy around with different tires for these wheels.
