Well I have been using the Titan 23T and it seems to be doing well except it gets pretty hot after 15 mins of crawling 130+ I am running a 13T pinion on it. Any ideas? I have a 12t should I try that?

The 12 tooth may help. 130 actually isn't that bad. My carpet car motors used to run hotter than that and they would last almost a full season.

I kind of doubt you have much run time on your rig too because you just got it, the more driving you do the better it gets.

Ya only about 3 20 minute runs on it. Thats how long a 3s 1500MAH lasts with this setup lol. I just didn't want to ruin anything.

Run the 13t as the 12t will not mesh enough and youll break teeth on the idler gear. Ive actually went through 4 of these motors already and from my experience breaking them in REALLY good helps but it doesnt eliminate your issues. Its inevitable, it will burn up and it will smoke, the nature of a 23t in an LCC. The only real way to solve your issue is to go brushless.

Ive been running a 12t since day one, probably 8-10 packs in now and not one problem.

Just always make sure your motor mount is tight.

I am using a Titan 23t with a 12t pinion and am loving this combo. Using an Xcite 1350mah 3s and getting 45 minutes or so. The motor temp hangs around 125, very acceptable.

Switch to the 12t pinion and once your truck breaks in more that will help too. Be sure to grease the axles once you feel the temp coming up on them...

Thanks man I will do that today!

As far as setting the gearmash I had no problems at all with mine. I am using a Robinson 12t pinion and could actually get the mesh too tight.

Im using a HR 12t pinion and with a 540 motor i could get the mesh to tight, with a 550 i get the mesh perfect every time.

Stripped the snot out of my idler with a 21t Titan and a 12t Robinson pinion on a 3s and MM. Picked up a 13t to run until my 40t Warrior comes in then I may switch back to the 12t. Kind of backwards as far as wheel speed goes but I'll see how it performs and go from there.

21t w/ 12t pinion had more wheel speed than I needed, with the coquina rock around here I get stupid traction. Still want to try some Rovers on it and I'm already stocked up on CVDs."thumbsup"

You probably stripped it because in order to get good gear mesh with the titan you have to take the outer cover of the motor off (the piece wrapped around the motor with the sticker on it).

I am running the Titan and still have the cover on my motor. Gearmesh is perfect with a 12t pinion. When I set my mesh I removed the rear shelf on the truck so I could get a better look at the gears.
