Spent a lot of time on the Kyosho sight collecting part#'s from all 777's, 7.5's, and Inferno's. Most will work cause they are common between all the buggies/truggies/trucks. Pretty sure everything on this list works on a Twin.
Big thanks to ALL who have contributed!!

Be sure to check out post #11 & #35 for non-Kyosho parts that will work too!!
Post #62 has Twin trany part #'s and brake down. Post #78 contains CVD(U joint) info.
17mm adapters at the bottom of this post.

On the helical gear sets. The Twin/Mad force sets are 3.3 stock, which you probly know. The gears for the Inferno ST are helical also and will work in the Twin diffs. The Inferno ring gear is 43 teeth and the pinion is 10. That gives a 4.3 ratio vs. the stock 3.3. Maybe theres a 38 tooth ring gear available also, the Inferno gear sets I bought at my LHS are helical 43 tooth.

Just doing a quick websearch I see the IS007 ring gear listed on different sites as 38 tooth on some and 43 tooth on others.

If indeed I could get a 38/10 combo it would solve a lot of problems for me.

Edit: counting the teeth on the picture above give me 43 teeth :(

I've got the 4.3 ratio in my hands now. They are for the inferno ST buggy. The stock ratio is 3.3. You can get the 3.3 ratio in the helical cut as well. A 38/10 gear set would be 3.8 correct???? The stock ain't much difference, can you work with that?

What kinda set you got cookin?

Wow yer right. That is straight off the Kyosho sight. After counting myself all three of those ring gears are 43t. The pinions however (according to the picture) are right.

Damn I type too slow. Sorry Raptor.

Nevermind brain fart. I thought the stock twin was 4.3, but it's 3.3. I need to figure out how to get it a little higher, like 3.0 or so.

Bart Bender, sorry bud,I forgot about getting you the number for the short side shaft.

The number for the shortside axle shaft(swing shaft according to the manual) is BS45.

Psst, you might wanna edit the first post about the 38 tooth gear and change it to 43"thumbsup"

Why you looking for such a high gear jason? They are 38mm gears if that helps.

Raptor, noted and changed. It's a misprint on Kyoshos part.

Lots of updates to the original post.

Has anyone tried a complete diff from the HPI Hellfire or Hot Bodies Lightning? As an alternate because I find these in the LHs all the time.

Are those 1:8 scale?

I'm not sure as I've never fooled with them. Are you needing a diff?

Took some measurements of stock diff and bevel gear with digital caliper and its the same as Hellfire. Hellfire gearing is 10/42 Part #87008 on HPI's website.

I have just been considering parts that are more available at LHS. I also saw one of those brands on tower with some kind of spiral cut on the diff and pinion gear. Here it is http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJBM4&P= and http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJBM3&P=

Well, the ring gear is 43 teeth, just like the Twin gears and the pinion has an 8mm shaft like the Twin....so they might just work. I'd wanna mic them before I said they did work for sure though.

Are you sure it's a 4.2 ratio? With Kyosho parts, you can get a 3.3 ratio and a 4.3 ratio for the Twin diffs. If I was bettin on it,it's probly a 4.3 ratio. Fron what Bart Bender posted,Maximizer states that the Hellfire and Twin diffs are the same. Thats a good thing though.

Having parts available is a great thing, don't get me wrong. One thing you need to figure though.....Once you upgrade to the helical cut gears and you shim them up right, your done. Thats one area you won't need to worry about.

just to add to the part conversions. Jammin's CR and CRT diff's are a direct drop in for the 4.3 as well.

I found out that the sportwerks diff's don't fit, which makes me to belive that the losi lst/8ight will not fit as well.

My next try would be Hot Bodies. since there old lighting buggy used alot of kyosho parts as well.

I've been looking at the hot bodies lightning and found RcMonster parts list for diffs is the same as Kyosho buggies. Took some measurments and it looks alike. I will go down LHS today to see if it is parts we could use. They got a nice spiral cut ring and pinion gear which is 10/43 gearing. Sorry guys diff is a 43.
