~TSS~ M-38 2.2 Jeep

Looks good but where are you going to mount the motor and transmission without cutting the body?

divorsed setup with rc4wd "killer t-case", and axial tranny under the hood. had origonally planed to use disruptor, but the axial was more compact and lighter."thumbsup"

yeah theres a transmission tunnel built in where the shifter is (look at the second pic on the first post). at worst ill have to inlarge the tunnel slightly.

that appears to be a cj2a or 3a it has a 7 slot grill millitary jeeps like the one in you're other picture have 9 slots but most people would never notice:ror: great job on those tires with that kind of skill you should be able to fab a 9 slot grill you want to be spot on"thumbsup"

well i got the links made and axles and shocks mounted. i was able to do a trational style shock setup in the back, there was room so i was glad about that. the rear will probly have to stay droop, but the front will be sprung.

ignore the wheels and tires, just for mock up

and heres the problem im having with the wheels, cant put them on cause a tamiya wrench or my socket driver wont fit in the hole :(

Try a traditional Axial wrench. They work fine from one of test the guys at the office did. I guess we should have Allotted for those guys using a craftsman set.

We tried to make the hole small so it would not take away form the looks.

well i got the wheel issue fixed by just grinding down a tamiya hex wrench.

i also got the motor and tranny mounted as well as the t-case. the t-case is the first prototype for the rc4wd "killer" t-case, its about a 1/4" smaller than the production unit, really helped me sneak it in down there, it didnt have any mount holes so i drilled and taped some 4-40 threads to match the bolt pattern of the production unit.
unfortunatly to get the tires clearance to get full lock steering i had to cut away most of the bodys inner fenderwells which really sucked :(
also got a front bumper made i wanted one identical to the c-channel one used on the real M-38, painted up this thing is gonna be perfect"thumbsup"

ive got allitle fenagling to do to get the driveshafts in but the tranny tunnel will conceal everything.
