Hey guys,
I picked up 2 of these OBA systems off of Dollarhobbyz.com and cannot get the items to work.
I have tried them in multiple chassis with no luck.

Traxxas has them hooked to a 3 channel tq radio, slim xl5
im running a 5 channel tqi, regular xl5

truck runs fine when the oba module is not connected, however, when I connect the oba module, the speakers and sound work fine, but the actual throttle freaks out. any slight forward throttle on the tx makes the esc go full throttle for 1-7 seconds and reverse is almost none existent.

the connection can be found in the slash oba manual - grey into channel 2, green into channel 3, esc into the oba module, and I built an adapter to grab the power off of the battery for the oba. its pretty straight forward.

I have also tried to reset the throttle end points on the xl5 and the neutral settings on the oba module. nada - if anything it made it worse!

Ive been on hold with traxxas support for some time, but am not expecting any actual support being that they are not selling them separately yet.

Im thinking I may have to cough up some cash to get the slim xl5 and the kits tq rx/tx!

This seems so straight forward! and dollar hobbyz has sold a ton of them - but not one post of how to hook it up yet.

If you are reading this and are looking at picking on up - hold off till we all figure this out. Cause being that I bought 2 systems and speakers - im out almost $150 if this isn't going to work!

I figured it out

I moved it over to my crawler - it has nothing to do with the xl5 esc - its the voltage. my sons Clod that has the xl5 was only running a 6 cell nihm. I looked through the docs and the OBA Slash comes with a 8.4 volt Nihm - I changed out the battery on my crawler and it works like a charm.

To mount the speakers, I chopped off most of the mounting bracket - then drilled 3mm holes in each arm - tightened it down very loosly so the "speaker" would be resting against the lexan - DO NOT TIGHTEN THE SPEAKER DOWN!
pics to come later.

I also picked up the ess One from Team Associated
the ess one is much easier to connect and setup - I like the flexability of the system as well

however - the traxxas system is water proof where the ess one is not
also the traxxas module is much louder then the ess one.

If I were in the market again for the sound module - id get the ess one and then address water proofing.

I'd like to add sound to my Yeti XL which runs on 4S Lipo. Can either the Traxxas OBA or the ESS One from Team Associated work on that much power?
