I’ve had these Sherpa rails on hand for a while now and finally settled on what to do with them. Enter the Shapra.

Build will be pretty straight forward. Sherpa CF rails. Capra axles. And eventually a 2.low transmission. At the moment I have a stealth X sitting on a Vader monkey skid in there.

Details of the progress so far. Used most of the stock Capra links except I needed longer front uppers. The driveshafts are too short but the long pieces can be used for 1 driveshaft, and I have another pair of the long pieces on the way. The stock shocks are a bit long for my tastes but I haven’t decided what shocks to use yet so I slapped the stock ones on without springs for mock up. With springs it’s a bit of a monster truck.

I added a couple small spacers under the front of the transmission to straighten out the driveline angles. Had to flip it the reverse direction to mount it as the skid has the holes on the passenger side.

Axles have the Samix brass knuckles and covers and tgh wild portal gears up front. Running the 6% OD as well which may be too much OD but I can flip the gears around and underdrive the front at the transmission if that’s the case which is a nice option to dial in a wide range of OD percentages.

Wheels are eBay special. They are actually a little bigger than a 1.9 but smaller than a 2.2. Odd size, should have read the description closer but they’ll do. Wrapped in trenchers with pl dual stage foams. Got a bumper on the way from ierc and some basic electronics to get it going, hopefully will be shaking it down soon.

Yummy! Classico + Vodka. Win, win![emoji16]

This build looks awesome TB! It’s gonna be wicked with the LCG and Capra axles!

Starving to see more![emoji3]

Great looking build man. I think a Sherpa build will be in the works far down the line for me.
Weird, I have a set of wheels that look identical to that but I didn’t even think to measure them. Some of the eBay wheels I’ve had good luck with, others are garbage. But you never know until you get them

Quite a list of parts there young man!! Waiting to see what you do with all of them.
Have any of you guys tried running the Holmes BR Mini in the flat rail chassis? I have a couple of these builds on the work bench and in the parts drawer. Not sure if I'm doing a Build thread or not. "thumbsup"

Time for some updates here. Finally got this one just about buttoned up, for now.

Quite a few changes made since the first post. Since then…

- swapped the stealth X out for a 2.low
- swapped shocks out with element Rc rtr take offs
- shorter front links
- stretched rear links
- hh snubnose + micro x
- rs800v2
- fresh cliffhanger body

Here’s the result…

Sweet looking rig!!

Thanks everyone! I’ve been having a blast with this truck. Took it out for a couple shakedown sessions and put a new video up on YouTube.
