Should I use the foam inserts?? or no inserts??

I've found that without foams if I am approaching a rock with kind of a ledge, or if I get into a hole, that the tires deform too much and sink below the face of the rock. With the foams, they still get plenty of traction but they don't collapse on the wrong side of a rock.

The best use of foams is if you cut them shorter and narrower to give more sidewall and overall tire flex, but without making the entire tire deflate.

Foams are great. I can't stand running without them. The tire gets folded up and falls all over the place, you lose more beads, etc. With my KRocks, they would be totally useless without foams, they would never hold the weight of my truck, and when the tread compresses together, they just make a slick.

So yes, you should use foams. Try it either way and see what you like best, I bet it will be WITH foams.

despite what some people have said on this post there is no yes or no answer to your question. I personally dont run foams on my crawler and for that matter i dont run them on any of my rc trucks except my nitro sport. I run on hard ground alot and have found that with foams i cant get the perfect amount of tire flex that i want so i just dont use them. But thats just me. As you can see from the posts everyone is different and every tire is different. It all depends on: what you run your truck on, what tires you have, and the most important your preference. I would recommend purchasing one set of foams and trying them stock on your wheels. Then if you dont like it you can modify them and if you dont like that you can go back to no foams and keep the foams for later use.

And trd can you not type in all caps? its comes off as yelling even if you didnt mean it to be that way.

I run no foams in my Swampers. They do conform a little too much but the traction is worth it.

Now that I've moved to clod tires, I still don't use foams, since the tire is harder.

Yeah, with clod tires there is NO WAY I'd use foams. Suckers are hard as rocks!

I use the 2.2 Super Swampers on G Made Beadlock rims with the foam inserts from a stock Axial Yeti on my SCX10 Deadbolt. I feel the memory foam supplied with the Swampers is just too hard. It all boils down to personal preference and the type of use. I say try several combinations until you find what suits your needs best. But thats just my opinion
