Hey All! I got my Yeti a couple weeks ago, but I wanted to get some real drive time on it before starting a thread. I start by saying that every time I drive this car I get a headache.......from smiling so much!!
I have driven 20+ 4000mah packs through it. I have only had one failure so far"thumbsup" just a broken hub carrier, which was totally my fault.
I have to say VERY good job Axial!!!!
With that said, I have done a few upgrades as needed. First thing to go on the car was some UCFab 7075 trailing arms, followed by titanium upper links and new front suspension links.
Next, an obvious "must have" to go on the car was a set of Ottsix Voodoo U4 tires (silvers) with CI double duce 6.0 foams (also a must have IMHO).
Next on the list was to address the steering, which wasn't too bad at first, but the servo saver spring seemed to get really soft after some hard driving. I machined a 7075 spacer to put in its place, which did the trick.
After that I installed a Hitec 7954 and a CC bec.
I rebuilt the shocks with some 30wt oil. IMO it made the car handle much better.
I found that after the first couple of packs of HARD driving the body was falling off. I really like the look of the yeti front end so to fix the issue I decided to fuse it to some flat side panels. I used 0.60 lexan to avoid having to rebuild them all the time.
Here's some pics of how it sits now"thumbsup"
