The Shop Truck 79 F150

On 3s with 27t motor and 20t pinion my old dingo was similar speed, if not a bit quicker. My Courier will knock on mid 20s and Ive seen em go even faster. I have broken things that I expected to break and most fast/powerful scx10s break but most of my issues are stemming from the roller i bought bein in poor shape and stuff already bein broken. Ill be puttin together my usual solid steel outputs on this, along with some steel driveshafts and tranny internals and then she should be up to taking the abuse. Till then Ill just keep finding weak links LOL
Matt

Every rig has weak links, but none actually have limits. People run pro 4's and 4cell on these rigs and hardly break stuff. To say youre pushing it past the limits is completely incorrect. Keep running it and once all the weak links are buttoned up you should be in good shape "thumbsup"

Got the motor and ESC back from Wayne, all is well the issue at hand is simply gearing and making sure the driveline wont crap its pants. I tossed a 16t pinion on (tallest I could find at moment) and clocked it at a steady 15mph. Nice thing is, it does 0-15 in RIGHTNOW lol. I got a couple videos, altho not the best, to show what she looks like.

Smalle jump in the driveway. Its not HUGE but its EXACTLY what I was aiming for. Very composed, flies flat and lands nicely

Finally, slow crawling ability. I also show on the 3rd pass that the front is unlocked so you gotta be smart about your approach.

I was thinking I would want more speed out of this thing, 20-25mph was my goal but to tell the truth, 15mph and gettin to it as quick as it does is PLENTY!!! I will prolly try out some taller pinions down the road but for now Im havin fun. The handling is pretty awesome, especially considering this is an SCX10 but its no touring car lol. I had fun messin with it last night tho and thats the whole reason I built it!!! Gonna put together some bumpers and a front skid and then try to get it dirty soon!

That's bada$$. The first video actually kinda scared me when you hit it. I wasn't expecting that much speed. Looks like hella fun. Can't wait to see some action shots. Really can't wait to get this body looks great. Are you still running it with the flat irons?

Its not fast up top but down low it'll roll out!!! I'm running a couple different short course tires I've modded, one set to look like 35" all terrains and another is a taller set of mud terrains. I might swap in a set of 3.8" Irons or even TSLs when I go crawling with it. I'll get more pics later!

Are these 1.9 flat irons. They look to be but it's hard to say. I need a referance for when I get mine if flat irons are the same size as the ones in those pics then it's perfect for my liking.

Those are the 3.8" Irons I spoke of earlier. They are 1.9 Irons reduced, and then I took a dremel and shaved the lettering and sidewall lugs off to smooth em out. They are stretched over a 1.9 wheel in those pics, eventually Ide like to put them on a 1.55 wheel.

If those are 3.8" then how big are normal flat irons?

Noticeable in what respects? They are nearly 1/2 inch shorter than stock and on my Bronco they loom a ton better than stock height and I don't have to cut the fenders to clear em. This truck looks good with em but I like the shorter 3.5" tires even more. Some 1.55s would top it off I think.

I mean like they probly don't look much smaller than stock flat irons. I just did a quick measurement and it didn't look like much. Maybe I'm wrong though. U got any pictures comparing the two?

Not at the moment, but Ill take some tonight. Side by side it doesnt seem like much but when you put them on a vehicle with smaller wheel wells or that needs a shorter tires, the difference is night and day. I cant run stock heigh Irons or TSLs on the Bronco without issues and the 3.8s are PERFECT!!! In the game of scale, even 1/2 can make a huge difference! Its like goin from a 38" tire to a 42" in 1:1.
