--- The Crawler Innovations Water Skippin' FOFFer Build ---

Thank you"thumbsup". It works great. When the truck doesn't make it, the entire truck floats. It stays at about the body line of the truck on the side. With the paddle tires, you slowly apply throttle and it paddles over to shore and drives out. It is very convenient.8)

Hahaha thats awsome!!!:ror:

New video showing the performance of the new 4 pole motor & the custom foam infused body at work keeping the truck on the water. "thumbsup"

Killer video, tons of torque and wheel speed. "thumbsup"
Looks like the spray foam really works, how much weight did it add to the rig.

It was good to see you at Nationals"thumbsup"
The spray foam in the body did add weight. I'll have to weigh it and post up later.

cant wait to see this at NATS!

Sorry this truck didn't make it to Nats. It broke the last time out and I never had time to fix it. It would have been nice to have it there though, that pond at the bottom of the mountain was so tempting.

New parts, New HD Camera, & a New video!

The last time out, a steering knuckle screw must have backed out, which cause the dog bones to bind and broke the aluminum C. So, in a effort to actual have this truck survive a battery pack, I installed a set of SDS Customs 300M CVD's for Axial in the front axle. I rebuilt the Hitec servo with new a gear set and installed an Axial plastic servo saver.

Our digital camera finally gave out, so I bought a new one with HD video. So far it is so much better than anything we've owned before. As you can tell from the video, the pond is extremely low now. Each video the pond has gotten lower and lower. We need some rain.

Good fun there buddy...looks like the power is pretty well sorted. Time to hit some big water

Thank you sir. I'm getting a lot of twist overall. What would you suggest to fix that? On the last pull in the video, you can see the truck actually wheelies on the water and sinks rear axle first into the water.

I definitely got the power and gearing set up right now. I have a Kimbrough servo saver coming this week to replace the sloopy plastic axial one. That should give me a lot more control.

You need sand.8)

Agreed.
We have a local park with a large sand lot. I'll try and get over there to capture some video once I get the steering better tuned.

Very cool, the suspension looks a little stiff for the rough entry, plenty of wheel speed"thumbsup"

Agreed. I am still trying to get the suspension tuned. I need to find a larger pond with a smooth transition into the water. There is a pond I pass every morning when I take my kids to school that looks perfect for water crossing videos. I need to stop and ask the owner for permission to use the pond and film.

That lake of yours looks a BIT stagnant.:lmao:. Great job on the rig."thumbsup"It looks to have more than enough power. I can't wait to see it's hill climbing abilities..

LMAO!!! Awesome video....you should name your rig Jesus!

It's really more of tank. A place to hold water. They are referred to commonly as "tanks" in East Texas. However most people understand the use of pond better. The water isn't stagnant, but that green algea grew over the pond a few years ago and it has continued to stay. The plan is to remove a number of trees this winter so they stop draining the tank empty. If possible, I want to have the island removed as well to increase water storage capacity this winter.

A new kimbrough servo saver arrived Friday that I need to install. I want to take it to a local park that has sand hills to test it on hill climbs. When I do finally get over there, I'll be sure to capture video footage.

It was nice to meet you and thank you for coming out to the G6."thumbsup"

Have you had time to run the rig on sand to test it's climbing ability? "thumbsup"

Not continuously yet, but it's coming.
