Team Brood Presents 2013 East Coast Championships

I agree with Rowdy. The cones suck. If they were so great everyone would use them and they would also have been used for 2.2s. It would be nice with all of the rules we have to have a standard gate so there would be no argument. Tennis balls can be found at many stores around the world, while little fruity cones cannot.

Hey what do you know, someone has my back! "thumbsup"

My biggest complaint is they didn't stay put like tennis balls do. I understand the concept that if you try to straddle a taller gate, more than likely you're going to hit it, but if you have to lay the cone on it's side to get it to sit on a side hill then you defeated the purpose of the taller gate.

Run-on sentence.

Good for you I am sure the fact that they sponsor you has nothing to do with it. If you like them that's cool, the majority at ECC did not.
Really, I like the cones. Even if I wasn't a Team Driver. :)

I don't have any trouble with them. Around the parts I'm from we drive between the cones, so it don't matter to us. Our cones stay put for the most part.

The rain and wind we saw at ECC this year were not typical crawling conditions and probably not the best time to try something new. Ricky has been using the for years at Crawlerpalooza without complaint. He know all the tricks of making them work well under all conditions. The more Rowdy complains about them the more determined I am to make them work as good as Ricky.

Weight them, glue cut pins to the bottom of them (Chicklet's idea), use the putty that they make you use in dorm rooms to stick to the rocks, and I'm sure Ricky has some tricks too!

I like the cones, I have a few of the larger losi cones that would take being stepped on. I have used them twice down here and got mixed feelings. I also like to use wiffle golf balls. I will try the pins thing with them too! You can fold and wedge them into places well and they are less expensive than tennis balls.

Either way (cones or tennis balls), can we please get a set of standard gates to be used at USRCCA comps? This way people know what to expect and can practice with that setup.

Really , amke a rule on what gates we can use.

How would that work, tennis ball, axial, proline,RC4wd, wiffle balls, which one do we pick and which do we ban. We might as well standardize the chaulk we use too. When I practice, I practice not hitting the cones.

The Idea is not to hit the gates, I should be able to use a painted rock if I want to.

Maybe Fish and I can make a gate and make everyone buy them from us, then we would have a standard gate for everyone to use.

You hippie. Just don't hit the darn gates! You want everyone to get a trophy too? :flipoff:

I have been comping with the scale cones for years with Ricky. Just some sticky tack will hold them to the rocks. Not a big deal. Drill some holes in them for vents if if you really wanna get technical with it for wind concerns.

I didnt say "make a rule"....just a standard at USRCCA comps. I dont care what is used, but things like that should be the same at all USRCCA comps.

What's the problem with a little consistency throughout USRCCA events?

Just not you.

See, you're used to them. Not all are...

Personally, it didnt affect me at all, but I can understand why people didnt like them. We have some of the cones for our local club and we dont use them then either....

Cones are for ice cream & Madonna's bra.

TENNIS BALLS RULE!!! & RACKET BALLS!!! & AXIAL GATES!!! & PROLINE GATES!!! & THOSE COOL OLD SCHOOL PANTHER GATES!!!

You sure you can accept that since we used Tennis Balls at that comp? :flipoff:
