Maybe I missed it, but did you get the DCJs work with the portals?

No, I’ve yet to see my sort of CVD for TR models, so since I misplaced the factory dogbones, I had to order a replacement set to use with this portal set up.

I haven't ordered anything from overseas in about a year... Shipping times are quite long from what I understand. I try and order stateside when I can, but sometimes Tamiya parts and some other goodies can only be found overseas.

I was having issues finding info on wheels that would clear these portals, that’s why I ordered one when I found the thread in the wheel and tire thread about this brand. They will work good, especially for the price, just too bad I won’t be buying more. This will likely be my last R/C project for a while, as I don’t know if I’ll have the funds to complete the GF-01 Wild Willy build I started due to medical bills still rolling in from my week long hospital stay and continuing care for MRSA since the insurance my employer has for us is proving to be an almost complete waste of money.

Got a set of Proline’s 3.85” BFG Krawler T/A’s for the Jimny today!



Now I just need to order the BFG Comp 2 A/S+ for my 200, since I should have bought tires for that before winter

Thanks, For some reason it reminds me of a meme I saw of a Chihuahua with boxing gloves on each paw with all that clearance and huge tires:ror:

I’m curious too, to be honest, we have a baby gate with a door in it and it now makes it over threshold with no problems at all, where with the stock suspension and the RC4wd rolling stock, it would high center then loose grip with the tires that were on the wood floor. I still have the PICC line in my arm for 2 more weeks, so I can’t really go and thrash the truck until the line and pump hooked to it 24/7 is taken out on April 9th. I may have stuff to crawl on at home, but no trail work until that weekend, at least.

Took a few pics on some rocks today, it needs softer springs, but otherwise did well.

Got the last thing needed to get this little rig*where I want it!

Made a trip to the LHS I bought the tires and battery for it at to see if they had any springs that would fit it and found a little package of RC4wd 100mm King Scale Shock Springs pn Z-S1117 that has 4 sets that range from very soft to stiffer than what it already it had on it.





I’d swear that these springs were made for these shocks too, they fit THAT good!



Just the softest springs up front is a huge game changer on this thing!



The *with the next stiffer springs out back (had to counter the weight of the rear motor)



Then with the body back on it.......some trimming is needed for the front opening, the tires grab the back part of the fenders and front*bumper.

Here’s a test of the new springs vs how the box stock springs worked on these Shocks and on this truck. I’m starting out on the original springs then the RC4wd springs.

Took the Jimny back out for more testing today, very happy with the new springs!

It is, my Telluride and SCX24 are the only rigs I haven’t run on that spot there yet, but will once the Picc Line is out (sorta hidden by the white netting visible on my arm during the second uprighting as is the CADD Pump bag). I’ve got a few older videos there of my Losi Crawlers and SCX10, just one of my AX-10 before converting it into the SCX10 and my Wheely King.

Replaced the upright that attaches the hub to the camber link. Butchered the stocker when I first put the portals on it.

I’ve had the Jimny out for some thrashing last week and overall, I’m happy with it’s performance so far, though I’m thinking that I may want to get one of the Holmes outrunner sets for it, I think my old Integy 55t is getting tired………it’s only been in 3 different rigs over the last 13 years!


















Here’s the last two of that run, as well as the charge on that pack, the 200 is up for some love next weekend, new and better than it’s got now pads and rotors out back, and what is basically the SRT-4 Caliber front brakes (13.4” Rotors and 2 Piston calipers and matching pads from all the bigger cars vs the stock 11.7” rotors and single piston calipers it’s specked for)
