Summit RC Rock Crawlers fort wayne, IN

joe wont be @ work tommorow!!! what time are you guys leaving, will i be able to compete-and if so how much money do i need to bring for gas and comp fee??? Thanks alot

Meeting and ready to leave the track at 6:00am.

Gas money is unknown, you will be the 6th body and it will require a second vehicle...Joe mentioned last week he could also drive, he also mentioned tonight that you might want to drive. Trip is to Dearborn ~ 180miles

Entry fee is $8.00, somewhere they mentioned a cookout and that their club will provide the meat and drivers should bring chips, drink, sides etc...

Hope to see ya Sunday.

Here are some spy shots of my Berg attempt. This is just a quick mock-up so I can figure out the servo situation.

The plate in the center will have the speedo and receiver, along with mounting the lower links.

I think the battery and switch will go on the rear axle.

The steering setup is going to dictate how the links mount, yet the steering has to go in a way to leave room for the links.

I also have some ideas for rear lockouts.... That's fun stuff to do, the tedious stuff has to get done first though.

Don't mind the cluttered work surface. I've been doing this, 12th scale, and VTA out of the same pit. Everything has to get done before school starts in a month.

Ordered my speedo this morning, and waiting on two other packages. I got my servo mounts and stuff blanked out today. Slowly but surely fellas. I hope to do some drilling and tapping tomorrow after work. I'll have some more spy shots by the weekend.

More rocks have been hauled in to fill in the rock course for this weekends Comp. As of this afternoon no set line or route has been discussed and I'm fairly certain that as it gets tweaked it should remain untested by Seth or Myself...can't speak for Brian...gotta watch the oval guys close :ror:.

We brought back a few ideas from Twisted Crawlers and I think EVERYONE will like the courses that get laid out. The primary goal of this Comp is to design courses that every truck can complete...add a few alternate gates for the brave (or insane)...and most importantly HAVE FUN "thumbsup"

Hope to see a packed house this weekend.

nubie ?

Is this event open to rookies? I just bought an ax-10 ARTR Monday and have only used it a few times this week so far. Would the rig be ok to test out or compete? Thanks

Bring it!! The ARTR is a great way to get into comps. Hear is a pic of the progress that we are making on the Yard course. We are all fairly new at this, with only a few that have been to other comps. I would say you will do just fine.

We're all newbies, we just jump right in about 2 1/2 months ago and have held 2 points comps and 2 practice comps. Not to mention all of us are willing to help with driving pointers and tech tips. You could gain more from one day competing and watching than months cruising around online only.

Sunday! Sunday!! Sunday!!!

Get your crawlers ready, this Sunday is Comp #3 this one will be held xx xxx xxxx on the Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brian Behmer Where you at? This one is gonna be fun for sure. Handycrawler, get that comp rig out hear!!!! Come on guys lets make this a big one. Josh why are you MIA? This Sunday I even hear that Nick has his crawler together and will be entering it. Caleb, I wonder if yo have made a new tuber? You are pretty handy like that.

that course is sweet looking hope its doable!!!! we know how they look when we are looking in trying to talk wife into a day trip from Fairborn might see ya guys "thumbsup""thumbsup"

Come on down Bob, bring friends. I think the course will be very doable. Seeing how well the last course went last week, we know what we need to strive for...
But we'll still through in a few sick alternates.

Here are some more spy shots of the Berg attempt.........

No matter what I did, I couldn't get the servo laid flat on there, so obviously I had to stand it up. I'm still not totally stoked about it, but it's a place to start.

I still have to fiddle with the shock mounts.

Speedo came today, so there's another can of worms.

Lots and lots of misc hardware to straighten out.

Body mounts, battery mount, and the switch thing haven't even been looked at yet.

Wheels are almost done. The wheels w/ rings and hardware will be a hair over 6 oz., I'm hoping that's not too much.(Custom wheels won't be commonly available, sorry for the inconvenience...)

Needless to say, I'm going to miss the comp on Sunday. I'm helping a guy scrap out a house tonight and tomorrow. I get to make some spare cash knocking big holes in things.
