Hi I have a question
I spray this spray on all parts of the car including the plastic except the electronics before I drive

is it safe
Does anyone do this?
thanks

I saw that each type of spray may contain petroleum distillates so I don't know for sure. But it says on this spray that it is also safe for plastic, etc..

I have use a similar product (3M brand) on my RCs and car plastic parts although I don't use it as a regular cleaning product ... Most of the time is when I take the cars apart for repairs or upgrades... I clean up the plastic parts with rags. water and compressed air then I spray the car plastics with the product after assembly. I let them sit before use for a while and the plastics look clean and shinny as new. you can see the scuffs and tears on the plastics but the product gives the plastic a lubricant layer ... its ok to get it in the joints where it lubricates but it needs to be a misty film rather than a goopy layer otherwise debris will catch on it. I try to spray away from directly shooting into the the electronics and connections unless is the brushed motor bearings. should be used with ventilation stuff not good to lubricate your lungs.

So is it not recommended to lubricate the entire car with silicone oil before driving?
Or silicone spray?
I just do it to prevent rust too
I'm looking for a substance to clean the car before running without using water that you can simply spray on and then remove with air that will clean the mud
And then I lubricate the bearings with this silicone spray to keep the slide parts in the car

You've started three threads on this topic and you've gotten about as many quality/ experienced replies as you could possibly get. I'm sure there's some youtube tutorials out there as well. You're saying that you already use silicone spray and that you lubricate your bearings so...?

At this point I think you should just keep doing what you're doing and/ or re-read all the replies that you've already gotten in the three threads that you've made. This isn't rocket-science. Literally every cleaner, de-greaser, lubricant, rust inhibitor, etc out there will tell you if it's safe or not for electronics, plastics, etc.
