Spektrum DX5 Pro-Questions??? Whats does the Knob and I switch do?

Need some knowledge from DX5R/DX5 Pro/DX6R owners.

I have owned previous Spektrum Screened Transmitters DX4C/DX3S/DX3R and now DX5 Pro.
So I feel pretty comfortable with Spektrum products but I’m stumped here.
I recently purchased a DX5 Pro and in the course of setting up profiles, I ran into some questions I can’t answer.

What does the knob do?
What do most use it for?

Whats does the I switch and its 3 positions do?
What do most use it for?

I read the manual and googled it but no real answers....other than one guy complaining that he couldn’t program the knob for steering trim like so many used it, on previous spektrum TX.

I am running a Yeti XL and SCX24 crawlers. I plan on using the channel mixer for 4WS on my crawlers but other than that is there anything I should be using this TX for?

Both of these switches do nothing by default you'll need to program them to have a function.

I've never really used those buttons on any of my rigs but for a crawler they could be useful. I'd just think of them as an alternative to the 3 position switches (A-D). The Knob is just a linear switch, I could see this being used to adjust drag brake (with the Mamba X or RX4). The I switch is a 3 position toggle switch (it holds its position) I'm not sure what I'd use the I switch for, maybe lights or something I dont need while driving. Both of these buttons aren't in a great spot to use while driving for me at least.

You mentioned setting up 4WS, I'd recommend using one of the A-D buttons as you'll want all 4 steering modes and I think thats the only buttons that will allow you to click through all 4 modes, they're also easy to access while driving.

I used the knob mated up to my Aux cable on my Castle MambaX to adjust my drag brake percentage. The 3 position switch would be a bit more useful if it was larger and easier to toggle, I'd probably use it for my winch or something.

The I-switch is a bit odd, in that it is in an awkward position. But, basically, if you need a fixed position, 3-position switch, this is it.

The knob works just like a slider, but has no slider bar, and like switch-I, is in an unhelpful position. I designed and printed a slider bar for it, and it is now useful for winches and rear-steer.
