Sonoma County Crawlers

The Donner comp was pretty cool. I finished 27th out of 32 and I did not even run the last course! Things seemed to be moving at a snails pace on Sunday. My ADD took over and I had to bail. I hate standing around. The novice courses were similar to the Pro courses.

The new slingshot is truly a great rig. I had not even driven it until after the tech inspection friday night. soooo stable and predictable. Thanks Jake and crew for helping me so last minute to get it together. Only thing i am going to change is my batteries. The Holmes 7t just kills my 9.6 volt split packs.

OK guys, how about the Manteca Comp?? Mapquest has it listed as 2 hours from the shop, only 114 miles ..... So, who's in and who's driving??? We need to sign up bu Thursday, so they can set the running order (but I'd guess that last sign-ups would be ok). They've got 20 something sign-ups already, should be a good time.

Post up, e-mail me, or call the shop and let's get this figured out! "thumbsup"

Hope you guys can make it! It should be a really good time "thumbsup"

Started a thread on our next Comp! August 9th, spread the word! Click here for the thread

Brandon: I think I'm there! We'll see who else will be coming, maybe Lance and Frank? Mike said he would go, if it was only 110 miles ... Mapquest says it's 114 .... So he might skip it ....

Nick: Things were run a little on the slow side both days. But, after that practice, you'll be ready for the JPH Comp! Hope to see you there.

Hello Guys, Im Ken from Sonoma and wanted to say hello. Just visited Jake today and picked up some losi shocks for my rig, a ax10 rtr. Thought Jake was great and look forward to meeting up for a comp in the future. I will get pics of my truck up soon.

Ken: Welcome to the Sonoma County thread! There's a Comp in Manteca this Saturday and our JPH Comp on the 9th (if you're not racing). Shoot me an e-mail to the link below, and I'll add you to our local crawler e-mail list and keep you up on anything that happens in our area.

Cvrc Comp

The comp was great had a great time but now I know that my rig is out dated and I need to update if i want to run for the big money  It is going to the shelf to become a rock racer now I just need to find a new comp rig.

1st off, I'd like to say congratulations to Dean for winning one of his classes at the NHRA drags this weekend! All that crawl time help his reaction times!!! Nice job Dean!!

Hellbent: The guys did look sharp in red! If you're gonna do bad at a comp, you might as well look really good while doing it!

Crawlin: Hmmm, I'd say Slingshot!

Think I may have found a new crawl spot! Gonna try to get Mike and Lance (maybe me?) to do some Re-Con of the area and see what it's really like. Rangers might be a problem? Will post up pics and findings soon!

Anyone else finding any new spots?

The CVRC Comp was really cool, we all enjoyed it and increased our Comp knowledge. Got our butts handed too us, by what looked like easy courses, but enjoyed the whoopin'! Click here for a report and pics!

Thanks to the CVRC Club for putting on the event and showing us great hospitality!

Thanks for the great write-up Jake "thumbsup" Glad you guys had fun. My own courses fooled me as well :ror:

Hey I was out there yesterday! What class was he running in and which car was his?

Brandon: We had fun! Your course was awesome .... I just wish I didn't spend my last 4 minutes of it trying to climb one rock! I didn't feel so bad after watching you spend a couple minutes on it yourself! Think you might be over on the 9th??

Dean drives for Korbel and Kenwood. I think the dragster he runs is Kenwood sponsored, but I'm not sure of the class.

Im gonig to try! Steve said he is going so I have a ride. My family might be going up to Oregon for a week so if I can get off work I will be with them that weekend.

Jake thanks for taking the time this morning and getting me down the right path. I cant wait to added that carbon peace we talked about to the back of my rig and use the Gatekeeper piece for a shim.

Thanks again,

Ken

Well it's been awhile, since the season was over I got started working on my 1:1 and lost track of the time, I built a pretty bad ass scaler but ended up trading it off for another rig which should be at this com, I'm not positive yet though, if not this one then the next one.

My crawler buddy just flaked on me agian, anybody down to craw? I need to find some new crawing buddys. Im down to go any time. I know of the FG spot, under the overpass, and some spots in Windsor. If anybody is down just let me know. We should get a weekly GTG goin some time!
