Quarry Creeper
This is something I am using to help me set up my next tuber build. I needed something to help me set up the attachment points for suspension links. I am using a Axial trans so why not use a set of chassis plates to help with the modifications I would like to do.
The first thing you have to do is build the bottom part of the rig, the part the trans plate bolts to. I used the chassis plates as well here to shape the tubing to match.
Next , I bolted the chassis plates to the skid plate and tubing that I made. They go on the outside with a spacer to move them out a little.
Now comes the part I like the best. If you drill all the holes on the chassis to 1/8 in. and do the same to a set of ball ends, all you have to do is use 1/8 in. rod and start to see where you want your links to be. If they don't line up with any pre drilled holes, just mark one spot on one end and drill it. Take the chassis plates off and use the one hole as a guide and flip the plates so your holes are all the same.
This could be used over and over for many setups. You could use any chassis as a base line and go from there.
Once you know where you want the links, You fab some brackets and line it all up with the steel rods and tack it together.
