i took a chance with trucks of fortune hoping for better then i got, so now just doing a piece together comp truck and upgrade here and there. never been to a competition only watched videos, but wanna get into the scene. i have done quite a bit of actual crawling with 1:1, i'll have to travel a little to get to one as my area doesn't offer much for rc fun. about an hour in any direction at least. but here's what i have so far, built the kit and stole all the electronics, tires, and the body from the fordyce and through them in there. the wheels from the goodie bag
after christmas gets past us ill buy a new motor/esc and a servo, tis the season of giving right now sadly and my rc parts shall have to wait. but in the meantime i can get the body to fit better and figure out the bed, i want something like the hardline rock pirates but think i wanna go my own direction with it.

Nice looking build. What made you choose the Axial SCX10 Pro over the Vanquish VRD Carbon? My guess is the straight axles, but that's just my thinking...

the axles and i got a deal on ebay for the kit. and watching videos on comparison with other rigs against the pro, i saw some fun potential for it and i feel the faults can be managed pretty well, and then just picking a good line because of it having straight axles, but thats part of the fun [emoji106]

found a rear axle skid plate layin around and the screw holes lined up, so added that while i patiently wait for an atlas winch i ordered and bed tray. need to figure out what direction to go in for the body paint.

through up the winch temporarily, need either the mounting stand you can get for it or make my own, have some braided fishing line coming for the line as well, and cut out some tubing for the line to feed through.

Thank you for the skid plate part number!

This truck looks mean - low and all business. "thumbsup"

Somehow I missed this. Good looking build! You sure do have it sittin' low.

I'm curious to hear how it does out on the rocks.

got the bed tray today, cut slots so it would fit on the frame rails, the rear slid underneath the bumper perfect, was thinking on some stick on black diamond plate to put on and give it a look. need to mount the front of the body now, but haven't figured out how i'd like to do it yet. also don't like how on the sliders from the pro the screws are lopsided, really throws my eyes off and kinda grinds my gears hahahah. also the rear of my cab i feel protrudes out a bit, but then if you look at it from the rear to the front it looks fine, so i don't know, it's a comp rig not full scale, but i feel they are eye sores to me. i will be cutting the rear end of the sliders a bit to meet the cab and have a rubber corner piece that will fit nicely from the cab to the slider to make it flow as one. and maybe that will take away from the cab bulge a bit

think i figured out how i want to mount the front of the body, used the rear body mounts and glued them underneath the hood, will screw the posts under the hood then use clips coming of the mounts on the frame.

I really like the bed tray, nice, simple (maybe not) and fits the tail of the truck just fine."thumbsup"

hopefully i didn't ruin the simple bed for ya, i wont touch it anymore now haha, unless i add some scale items, and i added on some tail lights to the bumper. and the front body mounts worked out mint. next up i think ill figure out the grill/headlights and adjust the shocks make the ride height even and ponder on what to do to hide the holes in the back of the cab.

Lookin good LJ! That diamond plate sets the bed off pretty good. The tail lights fit that bumper just enuf. The holes in the cab, why not get some tiny red leds n make 'work' lights on the back? Alot of semi's have them, we always swapped out the white lens' for either red or colored ones

i like that thought with the lights, may pursue something in that direction! thanks for the idea. appreciate all the feedback from everyone so far, and i'm with everyone else to with seeing how it goes on the rocks! i've seen some slammed yota scx10 pros that climb fairly well [emoji1696]

naming it the sh!tbox with the having the brown paint because i messed up with my green i had left because i did it outside and the paint flaked on me [emoji849]put power to it for the first time today and ripped it quick, body stays on good with flipping and rolling over, rubs a bit but seemed to flex and drive fine. hate using stickers for scale parts, but have the door handle and hinges i added to, need to put on the black trim around windows still, and figure out how to finish the rear cab corners, there's a competition monday id like to try and make so will make it happen before then.

so i went with spektrum for my transmitter and receiver and of course having issues with my winch [emoji849] just got power to it for the first time the other day and haven't had time to mess with it, but have the basics besides that squared away so gonna try my luck tomorrow and have some fun at the indoor comp. happy new year everybody.

I was wondering how that body would look cut up. Looks pretty good but I wish they would have chopped the roof a bit. Do you have the body held down in the rear or are you just using the two posts up front?

Great looking truck. I really like the cab only look. I'm thinking of going with the cab only on my current Cherokee rig??
