SCX10 III coming soon?

i kinda like it.
itd be nice if the chassis has a triangulated front link option. looking at the skid it doesnt appear so.
also, cuz im that guy, a SOA setup would be nice too.

I got everything in my guess and then some. I went ahead and preordered mine. Looks like it wont be in until late April. I love the JL. Been looking at getting one or the new Bronco when it comes out for a new daily.

i would like to see that new offset front axle with out portals boxes and anything but the heep every brand outhere has somekind of lame heep body but other than the portals and the heep sitting on top it looks realy cool i cant wait to see.what come from this platform

I like the JL body. It looks like Axial did a fantastic job with the details.

i realy like the details and the interior of the body but its still a heep so few better choices outhere but they could have done something differant

i guess there plenty of time for that we all know the heep will sell so maybe the next one will be not a heep

I’m going to want a couple extras of these bodies so I hope some of y’all post em up when you get these, I’ll need at least 2, maybe 3.

Seeing 4/21 as an expected release date. I already ordered a pair of SX107s to have around for when the kit ships.

Wanna bet they release a Sport version, without the fiddly bits, just like Traxxas. (It's a TRX5 anyway, some would argue).
It absolutely makes sense. Not everybody is going to want to pay for a 2 speed, dig function, or portals. I'm sure Axial will use this platform for a bunch of different variations.

I'd be down with that if you weren't a coast away. Shipping would kill the deal.

To be honest though, this looks like it's Axial's best attempted at a Jeep body by far so I just may paint it up and use it to start with. It's all about the details and they seemed to nail them - even better than Proline's version, but sadly with the degradation of Proline that's not saying as much as it meant in years past.

Glad to hear the plastics are the same as the Capra! Good move Axial!

YES!!! The new Ascender! Preordered!

"But wait," you say, "it says Axial on the box." True, but remember that the Ascender's mother, Horizon Hobby, bought Axial a little while back and subsequently abandoned the Ascender....

This is exactly what went through my head when I saw the manual pictures of the chassis rails.

Didn't the Ascender have adjustable chassis rails? hmmm.......

ASCX10.3 I guess?

Seeing more of it, I'm wondering what parts inter-compatibility it will have with other rigs.

I was wondering the same. People are going to cry if shock towers, etc don't fit this chassis. But if they don't so be it. It was well overdue for a big change from this platform.

I just watched SBG's live review. Looks like a solid truck, and for the price and all the goodies you get with it seems like a good value for the money. Was looking to get either an Enduro or a SSD Trail King for my next rig, but this might change my mind especially with the Dig function. I will get the straight axle when it becomes available and probably sell the portals.

I'm not a big fan of the Jeep, but this scale body could change my mind.

Are they the original Ascender chassis rails? In any event, this is awesome.

Definitely not the same, but awfully similar. The Axial rails have reinforcement ribs stamped into them. And the Vaterra rails had lots of holes in both halves.

The price is pretty darn good. Only $20 more than the SCX10 II kit when it was released. This has a much better body with more details and an interior. The rest of the parts should also be much higher quality with better plastics to boot.

Ascender rails (more holes and no stiffening rib):

SCX10 III rails (less holes and a new stiffening rib):

I'm surprised they didn't add more arch to this chassis.

What did Matt mention about the straight axle? in the beginning of the review he said he'd touch on them later on but I missed it.

I assumed he was going to mention there would be another non portal version (maybe?)

Oh and for some reason the omission of the ancient 3 gear tranny pleases me, though I think its likely to surface again in the RTR lol

Straight axle should be coming out later, as it explicitly mentions in the manual that there's a different gear ratio setup on the T-Case output.

I doubt you'll ever see the 3 gear again. My guess for an RTR would be a single speed, dig-less version.

Will it be a kit with straight axles, or would I have to purchase the straight axles after the fact?
