After a few months of reading various threads here and completing my Wraith build, I had developed the bug for a framed crawler. So many of you have built the coolest rigs that I set out to build something maybe a little different than the usual SCX10. My "Hybrid" started with an "ebay" SCX10 frame, added GMADE R1 axles, a Summit hi-low trans, SAVOX servo and a CASTLE SCT 1410 Sidewinder combo. Even with the assembled weight coming in at 6.3 lbs and staying with 2s cell pack it is a BLAST! I used a homemade front drive shaft combining Traxxas yokes and outdrive shafts, drilled one end for the 6mm output of the Traxxas trans and a JunFac hardened steel rear, also drilled to match. Traxxas 4" aluminum body shocks added the Chevy SCT body and ProLine bumpers w/ a simple LED kit and it turned out far better than expected. Just had to share. I have no cogging in low, wheel speed is hilarious, runs cool with 23/68 gearing. Hope my link to my Dropbox folder works as haven't had enough posts to be allowed to upload photos.
