I'm really looking into getting into this new hobby and I kinda like the Everest (I really don't like the body though) and I just realized that there's a Gen 7 Sport and a Gen 7 pro...

Can anyone tell me exactly what the difference between the two is?

Thanks in advance...

the difference between the gen7 sport and gen7 pro are mostly in the body
and if i remeber the pro has some kinda upgraded something or another
cvd vs dogbones or a metal locker or something stupid lol

the pro body is extremely heavy the roof rack and fenders and cage add alot but i really like that funky body stylel and it looks really good with all the accessories lol

the sport will be a much better performer
and although you can upgrade with redcat parts your better off using axial parts since the gen7 is still a axial clone the swap over is pretty painless

same with the everest 10 its a axial clone same parts as the gen7 just different chassis

in the old days the e10 was the budget scx10 people would start with the e10 and slowly upgrade to scx10 parts till it was all axial

It is a shame you are looking now. You just missed the Redcat crazy sale.

ferp420 seems to know his Redcat as good as anybody on this site so I would heed his advice. I have zero personal experience with the brand. I am admittedly not the biggest fan of Redcat and you can find similar deals with Axial and Element if you compare it to the Gen 7 Pro price of $289.99. I don't know how each compares. I just suggest you do your research before pulling the trigger.

If he goes with Redcat, is it worth going Gen7 or should he be looking at the improvements that came with the Gen8 or Gen9?

the gen8 is a completely different rig they do sell the gen8 axles as upgrades for the gen7 but in my opinion its more trouble than its worth
the gen 7 is closer to the scx10 1 or 2 than a gen8
