I've never had or used a worm gear driven vehicle. One question/skepticism that I have is this.. What is the longevity of a worm gear like? It may just be me, but metal on metal friction is going to wear down much sooner than a normal gear driven unit I would think.

No more so than a pinion and ring gear.

Will the new Grappler body be ready when the crawler is released? also will the Mini Grappler change or be released in the same form as the new Losi Crawler Grappler body?

most sawzalls run a modified worm gear, plus i have a worm gear circular saw that has gotten daily use for 3 yrs with no problems yet
