Yes I had troubles with the shocks, they were super sticky, one is still like that. I removed the plastik o-ring that is inside the shocks to allow better movement which worked but they leaked...
So I run them no oil, just a bit for lubrication. The car is so heavy that the stickiness is a big issue. My biggest complain is the fact that I couldn't find softer springs.
That's why I bought some old man emu shocks, in 90mm to more flex, with different springs, still waiting some parts...Should arrive soon, I hope.

Are you building a d90?
 
yeah sure am had one years ago and regret selling it but im copying yours how do u open the shocks to put oil I think im going to put proline shocks on mine"thumbsup"
 
Did u make your rock sliders or buy them and when u did rubber fenders did you cut out the arches on the original body
