RCC Addict
Area 916 RC Scalers and Finishline Crawlers is proud to announce something new and exciting to take RC scaling to another level. (RC Overland Team Challenge R.C.O.T.C. ) It will be open to anyone who wants to have fun with their 1.55 1.7 1.9 rc scalers in and around the 916 area code. We welcome the seasoned veteran as well as someone new to the hobby. Take your new rtr axial and with a few modifications and have fun. A winch is a must but only 1 vehicle of the team is required to have a winch, 2 would be recommended. This is a 2 truck team challenge. Organized teams are encouraged. If you are a solo driver without a team driver, no worries, you won't be the only one and we will randomly pair you with another driver. This is a great way to meet new people. We want everyone to enjoy themselves and have fun. After each event we will have feedback cards so you can let us know what you thought and what you would like to see in the upcoming events. We are going to start with a 6 challenge series starting in January to May on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
RC Overland Team Challenge R.C.O.T.C. Guidelines:
No running allowed on the course unless section challenges require the team to run that specific section only. Running the course out side of these challenge sections will result in a DNF for that team. (There is absolutely NO penalty for reversing or self recovery in the Overland Challenge). This is a challenge not a foot race and we want it to be a safe experience for everyone.
Drivers: (Will be allowed to catch their rigs in the event to avoid excessive damage. A 5 minute Hand of God penalty will be issued by the Trail Bossing Team.)
Judging System & Race Format:
2 teams at a time leave the starting line 3 minutes apart. They will be followed by their paired Trail Boss team on foot. The Trail Boss team is exactly what it sounds like. Each team is paired up randomly with another team. When one team is running the other team is judging / trail bossing. Another option for the Trail Bossing team is to have one team mate in the pits and one team mate in the field judging the paired team. This is a timed event. Best time with the least penalties wins.
Mandatory Items:
1.Tow strap
2.Spare tire
3.Winch * 1 out of 2 vehicles in the team MUST have a winch.*
4.Pull Pal or ground anchor

Trail Markers:
200 - 300 TM per course:
(Each Overland Challenge will be one large single course.)
All Trail Markers must be cleared by both vehicles before any team member can progress. All 4 tires of each vehicle must clear past the TM. Gates are not open. ( PENALTY FOR TOUCHING THE TM 2 MINUTE ADD ON). Each vehicle in the team that touches the maker can only be penalized once per trail marker gate. Just make it and clear the gate as a team. No straddling of gates.
This is a smart driving event your winch may be your last resort or it could be the only way....

TTC sections will be placed through out the course randomly. These sections will test the individual driver skill and their rigs capability
No touching the TTC boundaries with the vehicles.

Matt (DORK VADER and myself) went out to Lake Amador and spent a couple hours trying out the new concept and let me tell you, It was a blast! True scaling to the extreme! We think it's a great concept taking scaling to another level where you get to drive and use your accessories. Feed back is encouraged as we fine tune this. Feel free to post here or pm either Matt or myself. We want this to be a great experience for everyone.
