Rally Tracks!

im in the process of building a Rally course next to the Short Course track.. is there a max width length for the track to follow? i was thinking no more than 3 feet should be plenty. Rally racing is not everyone lines up and races at once.. its timed event where you run one after an other.. right?
so 3 feet wide should be plenty.??

It kind of depends what you are going for. If you are building a A to B rally track then yes timing one at a time is the only way to do it. But 90% of the rally races we have are "rally X", meaning we do two cars at a time on a closed circuit. We strive to have as many corners as possible (generally around 20+ a lap) and we run from 3 to 5 laps for a single race. We build courses 24 to 36 inches wide with jumps, bumps, loose dirt and very tight and technical corners.

i posted some of your pics on the forum and people we digging it.. so i need to make a tight track.
I told them.. its a drift course but you're on dirt. Lots of tight turns.. 2 high speed sections..
Its florida, so sand i got a lot of.. rocks i can get some.. the bridge with the option to go under it and over it.. Brilliant! i love the metal you have.. the 1/4 circular one.
im breaking ground tomorrow.

i found a couple of turles colorado rc rally videos on youtube.. i counted 15 Turns ... so 15-20 turns is what i have to shoot for.

In the trunk of my car I keep a "track kit"... Cones, little road barriers from HK, racing discs, old RX bottles filled with water, paper/pen, white board, big sidewalk chalk, scale signage, small ramps, etc..... It all fits in a small old hockey bag.

Sounds awesome..any pics of the track setup?

its not quite rally stuff .. but i bought some Sidewalk chalk when they go on discount.. keep them in the truck.. then find some layout i like.. Cones.. Chalk and some tires and voila.. mobile at its max..
we did that with some on road cars at the Churches parking lot.. it brought a lot of lookers!

HOON 470 as of today.
