Question about Redcat Everest 10 on a Axial scx10 Chassis

It looks as if everything should be able to bolt straight up my question is does anyone know if the transmission mount screw holes match ?

Based on pictures I've seen, the Everest 10 transmission won't bolt to a SCX10 skid without modification. The holes aren't the same. Everything might bolt up just fine, but I would recommend being prepared to possibly mod some things or make some links.

Two of the the transmission screw holes on the Everest are, spaced slightly wider, than the scx10 transmission.

I put an SCX10 Hot Racing transmission on my Everest skid plate by slotting these two holes,

So I imagine you could put the Everest trans on the SCX10 skidplate the same way,
or you could probably just use the Everest skid with the scx10 frame,
I think the frame rail side holes are the same.

There are no "standard" sizes, per say. The SCX10 chassis accommodates 3 different wheelbases (11.4", 12.0" and 12.4") with 2 different upper link configurations (3- and 4-link).

Another factor in the equation is which set of holes you use in the rear (there are two sets of mounting holes for the rear shock tower/brace assembly).


Maybe best to see what happens first when you get everything and "go from there".

Your choice of rod ends also comes into play with link length. You're better off getting something like a Revo end because they're strong as hell. My go-to method for link building is to make a wheelbase jig for the truck. It can be as simple as 2 paint stirring sticks with holes drilled in them and you bolt the axles to them. Then you line up the chassis and body so you can get everything proportional and then rough measure out your links. I tend to measure slightly long at first and cut down as needed.

you can set up the xtrail chassis between about 11.5 - 13" wheelbase with the stock Everest links.
any Shorter should be easy, just cut the links down and re-tap the ends.

If you have room to move the upper links forward it will help out your driveshaft angle and flex a little better.

I was wondering are we talk a half inch forward or more like an inch?

I would prefure to keep the original holes for strength vs drilling new ones for a short term fix until I can afford to get the correct axles and links for a scx10.

With the kit came some what look like hole adapters (I could be totally wrong with what these are used for originally) but tonight I'm going to see if adding to the upper link frame holes will help out.

Nice build thread! I've been swaying back and forth on one of these chassis, but after seeing this among other threads, I guess I'll have to conform. I'll let you and Robotron sort out all the details first :ror:

This is the same thing in wanting to do with my Everest. These crawlers are awesome for what they are. It's goes thru everything all the nicer rigs do. I've only had minor issues. Stripped stock spur, pinion and lockers. Snapped front driveshaft yesterday. Just used a vxl rustler axle I had. Worked perfectly �� should be order the scx10 chassis parts soon and follow that up with a rc4wd 2 speed trans
