Proline GRUNT 1.9 tire.

The Grunts are smaller than the MT45s just a tad. I haven't mounted them on yet though. I will try to get them out for a run soon.

new shoes for the Toyota LC70, it's the Proline Grunt 1.9

Nice, looks great!

step one gets repeated all too often.

Yep :ror: :) 8)

Tires work great. Size of the Axial MT45's are nice for clearance but I would say the Grunts edge them out just slightly in traction on my local rock. Hard to really compare without running them back to back and I honestly havent had a need to remove the Grunts yet. I love the look.

Good to hear, thanks for reporting initial findings to us here on RCC! 8) Agreed and they look perfect on your UMG10 Mog!

Pitbull Rock Bests are 4.45" which are close, but they absolutely refuse to update them to newer compound.

I also am on the "We need smaller tires" bandwagon. Trucks are so good these days that we do not need 4.75" tires. And these monsters look out of place on a lot of the modern scaler bodies.

Yes!

BTW Vaterra Ascender Swampers are bout 4.3-4.4" inches tall and work great. Pro-Line OG Swampers are about same size but 5-6mm narrower, great smaller tires too! :)

I think the 4.35” berserker may be my next tire... not sure about foams though for these shorter and skinnier tires.

@Topher Builds
I use these foams, which are specially made for the tire

100% agree.

:ror:

See that didn't hurt, right?

The Vaterra Swampers are a great size, but the compound isn't good. I know some people like that, but compared to Pitbull or Proline they are hard and not sticky at all. I tried everything with them including expensive foams and they just don't work for me.

No issues with the Axial UMG beadlocks or VP beadlocks. The beads looked normal when I inspected them.

Good! I would think Crawler Innovations will have something to fit. :)

Soaking in Simple Green/water for couple days and CI foams works for me. "thumbsup"

I'm also looking at these A.L.T. foams, although for different tires.

~ More peace, love, laughter & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place

simply enter the name of the tire in the search,or inquire via email

first test drive with the Proline Grunt, I am very satisfied even if the ground was not good after long rain in the forest, they did bravely. I am also very satisfied with the A.L.T foams

Klaus, you like both of these...was it money well spent if you had to do it over? Would you pick the same combo? Also, your rig looks great like this. Cheers.

yes I would do it again, but it was about the size of the tire, a 112mm with a 36mm width is not easy to find, the size fits the LC70 very well, but my favorite tire is the RC4WD Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure 1.9 "Tires Z-T0170

Great info guys i am so tempted by the Grunts and will check them when they arrive over here in my local hobby store, but will they be as good as my favourite BFG Krawler's which i use in both compounds, i will keep following this thread.

Anyone figure out what foams to use with this tire yet? Unless you guys are just trimming some of the CI foams down to fit the width of the tire?

We need more of these: tall and narrow...or just narrow

I agree. I find myself using smaller and narrower tires more and more.

They look better and a lot of the time performer better due to more pressure on contact patch. Currently the Pro-Line Krawler 3.85 are working really well, but only look good on a Narrow Steelie wheel from Boom Racing.
