This reminds me of the Michelin XL tires we used on the larger trucks in the desert. Our main sizes were 25.00 x 20 tubeless "super singles" on the heavy trucks and 14.00 x 25 for our instrumentation trucks. They worked well in the sand and were passable in rocky areas.
The lighter 4x4 trucks using the tall tires and Allison transmissions could actually stop beside a Toyota Landcruiser that couldn't make it up part of a sand dune and then start again up the dune with no trouble. This even though the Toyota tires ran reduced pressure in the sand while the Michelins were at normal road pressures.![]()
