I think he put this in the wrong thread...weren't you looking for the "Just Checking" thread Sterling?

A question about batteries. I see on a lot of the videos that most rigs run a 2 cell Lipo and they mount them to the front axle. I bought my XR10 in it's current state and it runs 3 Cell Lipo's and they mount under the front of the body (hood?) between the front upper links. I guess my questions are:

  1. Is it a benefit to run the 3 Cell's?
  2. What is the general thought on the battery placement that is on my rig?

I know these are tech questions, but it is my project, so I thought this may be a good place for the post.

Like marcus said, most comp crawlers use a 3s pack.

When I had my XR, I ran the battery on the front axle; it's very easy to make your own mount for it as well. I also looked through some pictures to try and find a good one for reference but only came up with this video I made from last season. Check it out here and you can kinda see how mine is mounted.

One other thing. If you run it on the front axle you want the battery to be thin enough and mounted to where it sits below your tire. I run the Gens Ace 3s 450 packs. They are about as thin of a 3s pack you can get for this application. Any other questions?"thumbsup"

x3 3s is the way to go. You should see several different methods of mounting the battery on the axle at the comp.

I installed a 3 inch lift today:mrgreen:

Ummmm...although it does look REALLY good like it is I believe a tastefully done bumper...no extravagant tube work...just a basic bumper with a winch would look nice.

I know that's a horrible shot...but that would look good...obviously the winch is missing...

That would go well with the existing rear bumper.
