Thanks, I am quite happy with those body mounts as well, they turned out much better than I expected. Hopefully the rears will turn out as good as well.

did our friend already do body work and paint it before you got it?

Yup, he painted it up and fixed up a few bad spots on it before I got it off of him. It won't be staying this color though, I have a little something special planned for it. ;)

UPDATE TIME

I have now added the rear body mounts. They are just a set of tlt body mounts that go through the shelf on the back. The shelf will hold the receiver case that will be done up to look like a fuel tank and a couple of scale items.

The bumper is now finished. It will get one more coat of paint during finial assembly. It is made from stacked pieces of styrene cut and shaped. The winch line passes through the bumper and will hook onto one of the tow hooks.

A close up that shows the texture of the bumper. I am going for the wrinkle coat look.

I have also made the servo mounts for the shifting servo and winch servo. I still need to convert a servo to act as a winch so the 3003 is just there as a place holder.

Sadly I won't be able to use the RX box. I check to see if my receiver would fit and it turns out the box is a bit too small. :( So I am going to build a fuel cell out of styrene to hide it.

No idea. Like BrianW said, I got this one in a trade. I had been looking for one for a while but could not find one for a good price.

I would love to have a 1/8th Ford. If I get my hands on another one of these bodies I will have to give you a shout. "thumbsup"

Ouch. I guess I got a good deal on mine, I traded a used set of Axial beadlocks for it. The tubing is mostly 1/4" with a little 3/16" thrown in here and there. Some of the pieced are also reinforced with solid rod if it is in a high stress point, like the frame mounts and shock mount areas.

UPDATE:
I have got the drive shafts finished up. They are a combination of Maxx and pede shafts. Coming out of the tranny is the hollow Maxx shafts. Glued into these is a set of Pede splined shafts with the small ribs enlarged to fit into the Maxx shafts. These slide into the stock Pede hollow shafts. I only had one metal Pede yoke left so I used it on the front shaft since it has a more severe angle than the rear shaft.

The shafts.

And the angle of the front shaft. It looks steep, but it spins freely with out any binding.

Thats all for now. Please check back soon for more updates.8)

happens to the best of us. Pilgrim, KY huh...I have out-laws in Logan/Holden/Lenore, WV.

Hey Prime,I think the ford body I have is 1/6 scale. It has a 17" wheelbase an almost 9" across the front wheelwells.Your truck is looking great.Keep up the good work.

This is the same body as i had in my HD desert chevy project. It's 1/8 scale

Thanks for the kind words, I really do appreciate them.

I have got a little more finished up. Since the Traxxas receiver box turned out to be too small I decided to build a proper fuel cell to house the receiver. It is made from styrene and the receiver should fit snugly into it once it is water proofed. The to "fittings" next to the filer neck will have fuel lines added to them once the cell is painted. The filler neck is made from an end link, a pan car wheel nut, and some styrene.

I also reinforced the front fenders since the front of them is a bit thin after all the trimming.

The fuel cell.
