After previously building a Tamiya F350, I decided I wanted the performance of the SCX10 with the scale appeal of the Tamiya High Lift. Begin Project Farm Truck.

Started with a basic SCX10, Delrin cross members, Chassis mounted servo and panhard, and forward mounted battery.

Aluminum C channel was used to make Velcro mounting brackets utilizing the shock towers. The original side mounting holes and roof antenna are filled.

Underside view of the bed and cab, bolted together using the original holes and further supported using some extra plastic links. The links are attached using bolts/nuts on the front (before filling the holes on the outside) and Shoe Goo to hold the rear. The cab and bed seemed very weak prior to adding the links.

I built a headache rack using styrene supported internally with 1/4 aluminum tubing for increased strength.

Test fit using 8/32 all thread with a nut under the bed, fits snugly and holds well due to the angle. The all thread and nut are held in place under the bed with shoe goo.

Start of the styrene toolbox, which will have an opening lid.

nice, so you're going for a scale truck that still performs good? sounds sweet, i know my brothers scaler (trail finder 2) gets the worst flex lol, so it will be interesting to see how this turns out. "thumbsup" i can see you're off to a good start, looks great so far.

Thanks. I'm looking for better performance than the Tamiya High Lift, but this will still be pretty top heavy.

Some work on the interior, starting with an old school bench seat. Used .060 styrene heated and bent, then added some cushions and covered with stretch fabric.

Seat after finishing and added the driver zip tied to the seat.

Building a basic dashboard with enough detail to look realistic through closed windows. Here is the progress while trimming to fit and determining how to mount the dash.

Finished the supports and lower portion of the interior and installed LEDs. The switch to change the settings on the lights is accessed from inside the toolbox (blinking hazard lights etc.).

Painted the body with a cream center stripe and brown for the remainder of the truck. The headache rack and toolbox are painted to match the center stripe.
