I can’t resist something like this Pro-Line Ambush 4x4 1/25 RTR Micro Rock Crawler EP w/ 2.4GHz Radio, Battery, Charger #4004-00 Free Fedex Shipping,
And I decided to go for it 115€ and free shipping it’s quite good. And I’m wishing for long time ago for a Toyota and an Ambush with leaf spring it’s perfect for a mini Trail finder.
Looking for eBay I found this

I need to cut the bed to adjust the wheel base

And after glue and sand it

I don’t want to cut the bed to get down the body. For me it’s perfect. Even I think I can make the interior with a little bit of styrene

It would have looked better, and been easier if you extended the frame instead of cut the body. It’s easily done by cutting one of the dual frame plates. I did it for my 1:20 Toyota.

But my Gelande is blue. My MST-W is blue and my Unimog is blue!!
So... perhaps in red?or it’s too much classic?

It's hard to make the Toyota look bad in ANY color. Personally not a huge fan of the brown, and basic red/ blue is so common... but the classic race color stripes ALWAYS look good. Dunno if weathered tan or light grey appeals to you but maybe worth considering. Gun metal, primer grey, weathered white, and light blue... all look sweet to me. Really cool project!

Thank you. At the end I think like you and I will take the classic race colours like model

At the moment my Dremel dies and I’m stopped. Well it’s a Chinese “Dremel”. Now I will buy the Dremel 4000 or 4300.
What rotary tool are you using?

I'm using a 300 for the time being and it does fine. The 4000 is a great series. It's 1.6a motor is more than enough for most jobs and it's smaller size makes it a little easier to use than the 4300. I think that the 4300 is a bit overkill for most projects and the price tag is pretty hefty in comparison.

see the dremel thread in the tools section.
FWIW i did a dremel thread last year and ended up with the 4000. FANTASTIC. worth every penny.

great work on the yota, i had no idea the ambush had leaf springs?? so cool!

Hey man!! Very happy with my new Dremel 4000. So much better than the cheap rotary tool that I had
The interior fits on the chassis thanks to the Dremel. It let me cut and sand the styrene easily and why not to say it, every time I’m learning a little bit more how to work the styrene
