RPP has announced price drops from $399.99 to $349.99 on the HPI Venture FJ RTRs! This is awesome news and it's still an uphill battle, but I hope this helps the truck build some sales that it deserves.

For a comparison, the Venture RTR is now priced $20 less than the Axial SCX10 II Cherokee RTR and just $20 more than the Axial Cherokee kit!

Going to be a tough one for me now..... Was going to eventually pick one up. Was actually going to wait for the builder's kit, but the FJ body is something I don't have yet...

I just got mine Wednesday from Amain hobbies at that price (349.99). Been waiting for them to go on sale. It's a pretty nice truck, but I think I like my SCX10.2 just a little better. For the price though you can't go wrong!

Why do you like your SCX10 II better?

Prolly because I’m more familiar with it... it seems just a scoshe bigger too. But, to be fair, I don’t have much time with the Venture yet. Been replacing electronics (1080 SC, steering servo, and a new FS-GT3C) before I take it out to get really dirty. I really like the drivetrain better than my 10.2, and after pulling the trans and transfer case apart, I gotta say those gears are BEEFY!

This is great news. But as a kit kinda guy I'm gonna be patient. As long as I don't have to be patient for a year or longer...

Have a look on Ebay if you're after the builders kit, they dont have them but there is a guy parting out Ventures and selling rollers for around $200

EDIT: scratch that price point they've seen the price HPI will be asking and have raised theirs too.

I saw that too and I don't get it because the builders kit has several upgrades so the price would be more acceptable where it was.
