If you are using regular shift hubs you should not have to dremel the RCBros holder. Install the holder first and the back side of the shift hub should fit no problem. Most of the brass weights I have seen have enough clearance also. If you are having trouble post up a photo and I can do what I can to help.
 
Haven't read the whole thing but to remove the wheels with shifts hubs, you have to remove the 6 SLW screws right?

The big bonus is the 1 piece design instead of the hex and no need for a wheel nut?

No you still use a wheel nut.
