Hey guys. Running a 20kg power hd servo in my trx4. Looking to get a bit more power from it and considering upping the volts through the hw1080 esc to 7.2v. Think it can handle it or will i just burn it out? Id rather not try it and destroy a perfectly good servo unless i know someone has tried it and says its ok.

Is that the LW-20MG? The 20Kg rating is at 6.6v. If you run it at 7.4v, it may or may not last very long

I have the powerhd 23kg version, also rated for 6.6v, been running it on 7.4v for 1.5 years now. Only issue was i wore out the gears and had to replace them. But this doesn't mean it'll work for you. But if it were me, I would have already tried it.

Well I'm sure the factory numbers are a little exaggerated, but i went from 6v to 7.4, and it was a very noticeable increase in both speed and torque. Felt like it doubled really (I'm sure it didnt really double) Its on a wraith with 2.2 xl tires, and on 6v it worked fine, but seemed a little weak for the rig. Now it's how it should be, could move some rocks with it now. Half expected it to fry and buy a 2290, but it's been great.
