Powder4breakfast SCX10 II Thread

I don't know for sure how close the Axial Honcho cab and ProLine SR5 cabs are; But, I do have both so I will take a look tonight and see how they compare. The Mojave/Bruiser cabs are for sure different than the SR5 Lexan cab... especially the width for sure. So if one is going to work I think it would have to be the cages made for the Lexan Honcho cabs. I'll see what I can figure out tonight.

As for my personal recommendation between PL lexan SR5 or Mojave hard body, I don't know if I can fairly comment until after I get the Mojave/SMF rig built. I'll need to see how they perform in comparison to each other. The SR5 Bodies are sweet; However, I just can't get over the realness of hard bodies. I am excited to get going on my first project.

Sounds like with your interest in SMF and Knight Customs products, you're going to end up with a killer rig either way.

Also a little teaser for my next project. This arrived this week and I will be picking up my Mojave hard body in about an hour to go with it...

SMF H056

SMF was awesome to work with. Wouldn't take my money until he new he could build. Gave me an estimate once he had time to build and shipped 2 weeks earlier than quoted. I was super pleased with the communication. I had already read a ton of reviews on the actual product and new I would like it. It arrived and I am very pleased with the finished product.

Can't wait to get going on this one. I just need to decide on color and whether to pin the nose or not. Then I need to figure out housings. If SSD releases wider tubes, I'll go that route. Otherwise, being a hard body... I am a little tempted to drop some $$ on Rock Jocks an run wider hubs again.

Any updates on this? How is the build going?

Yeah if i can get the project off the ground.
I've had no answers from SMF at all so the cage is pretty much not happening.

I know all the goodies from knight customs fit the scx10.2 frame with the SR5 cab but i can't move further until i hear from SMF.

Unless there is another option for metal cages. I can't do soldering by myself, no equipment or garage for it.

Sorry, I got a little busy lately with work travel and never compared the Proline SR5 and Axial honcho cabs. Saddlesore, are you saying you picked up a cage and it fits the SR5 Proline body? I think that this is what Jboucher wants to know.

I'm assuming an SMF cage for the Honcho body will fit an SR5 body because the bodies have similar dimensions. I did pick up an SMF A063 cage for the Honcho body.

With a new bike and other hobbies taking my attention away over the summer, I had put my RC hobby on the back burner for a bit.

I finally caught the bug again and pulled out the rigs for some TLC and upkeep. I took one of my trucks down to Southern Utah for work last week and had a great time getting back at it.

Do you eat powdered eggs for breakfast or something?

The name comes from my first love which is snowy face shots on deep powder days. My crew refers to this as eating "powder for breakfast".

Even mediocre days of RC crawling, biking, climbing and all my other hobbies usually beat a mediocre day of skiing. But a good powder day on skis beats all!
