Pics of your latest purchase

It's that time...time to build a new computer. Something happened to the old desktop...tho, honestly, not sure if the problem is the mobo, CPU, or both. Compounding matters is that no one makes LGA 1200 mobos in ITX format...all are 'discontinue'. So, instead of searching/buying a used/refurbished mobo, decide it's was best to just build a new one.

Pictured is everything except the case (the recently-released Asus Prime AP201 TG), and the GPU (will be transferring the RTX 3070 Ti from the old desktop, into the new). On the 'plus' side, not all will be "lost" from the old system. Not only with the GPU live on in the new desktop, but the two Samsung M.2 drives will be transferred to my XPS 15 laptop (in RAID 0, of course), and the RAM & PSU will be sold.

As for the new system, components are a follow:

Mobo - MSI MAG B760M Mortar WiFi II
CPU - Intel Core i7-14700KF
PSU - Seasonic FOCUS PX-850 850W 80 Plus Platinum
RAM - 48GB (2x 24GB) Corsair Pro DDR5-6000
CPU cooler - NZXT Kraken 360
Fans - 3x Lian Li UNI-FAN AL12 V2 RGB
Boot drive - 2x Samsung 980 Pro M.2 500GB (in RAID 0)
Data drive - 2x Samsung 870 EVO M.2 1TB (in RAID 0)
Case & GPU already mentioned

Must be The season. Mine shit out as I noted a few weeks ago when my replacement mobo showed up. Looking like I may be back up here with my desktop with the replacement mobo. Buddy is checking my HDs out.

But I built it around 2008 so it did pretty well.

For the new desktop, I didn't realize until later that I had forgotten one other component - the internal backup (ie. E:) drive. For this, I am using a 'traditional' spinning-platter drive...but, it is the fastest one on the market - 4TB Seagate FireCuda SATA III w/ 7200rpm, 256MB cache, 3yr data recovery service included, and 5yr warranty.

And, btw, it definitely IS "the season". In addition to my desktop Mobo giving out, my laptop (Dell XPS 15) has had it's Mobo replaced 3x since the start of the year. After 3 replacements, ALL of which were defective (one was, supposedly, brand new...not refurbished), they agreed to ship me a new laptop. New laptop is almost fully configured, to which I'll be able to ship back the defective unit within a few days (or my next day off, whichever comes second).

On top of that, I know two other people, who've had drastic (ie. need to replace) computer problems...one an Apple laptop, the other a Windows desktop. Regarding the XPS, these are normally outstanding. Prior to the XPS 15, I've had two XPS 13 laptops, both of which were excellence, and trouble-free.

Been wanting to order a Kraken VESLA since it was announced almost two years ago...but I, like many others, preferred a kit over their RTR. Unfortunately, it (like other Kraken RCs) was only available as an RTR. It seems there was enough interest in people wanting a kit version that, a few months ago, Kraken announced kit versions (one for gas, one for electric) would be made available...except that there would only be 10 of each, which, as most might guess, sold out fairly quickly.

Thankfully, approx a month ago, Kraken announced a second kit run, making 20 of each available, which will ship around the end of April. As of last night, there were 6 electric kits available...well, make that 5.

Servo Horn for the Brake Servo on the Promoto. It's 25t, so should fit the Reefs 179 I'll be using. If not I have a pair of Vitavon Brake Servo Horns that are made for these Reefs 25t servos. Also got a set of street tires and rear axle supports also. No pics as they wont be here till early next week.

Damn. Ordered these items from Vitavon Direct. They use DHL and its a 35.00 shipping fee when coming from them directly.
BUT, the damn order went from China to my place in Michigan in 2 days. I submitted my order on the 13th, and its only the 15th.
So its a lil pricey to ship directly, but for 2 days shipping from Mainland China to the middle of Michigan in 48hours (less than actually), thats damn impressive. I didn't NEED them in 2 days, but hells bells.

That shipping speed is impressive! The price may be worth waiting the 3-4 week normal shipping times.

Picked up this gem from a buddy. He was sellin it for a friend of his. For the price, i couldnt pass it up. After seein wat all was included, i did send him a bit extra.

Now, im not positive, but i believe this is an rc4wd engine/trans/tcase. Correct me if im wrong, so i know for sure wat i have here. The trans kinda looks like the ssd tk, until u look at where the tcase joins. But, when i tore it down, the internals were different than the ssd as well. There was minimal grease in it, so i cleaned it all up n threw in some good ol VP grease. It spins nice n smooth. The tcase is a 2 spd

Axial scx10.2 chassis, with alum front shock towers, not sure wat he was tryin to accomplish with the rear. Looks like he was goin for a cantilever setup, but was using dual shocks... [emoji848] The skid was dropped under the frame with some flat strips he had made, since the tcase mount was in the frame rails. Looks as though he done it for the purpose of the links [emoji2369] The panhard mount had another panhard mount (cantilever part) on it, so the front end swayed side to side.

But the icing on the cake, the score of this fine purchase, was the axles. I was quite suprised, when i had my buddy send me pics of the axles, to what i had bought. The axles were well worth the askin price. Ive managed to get my hands on a set of the old VP currie rockjock axles. The front diff barely had any grease, n the rear had enuf but it wasnt on the teeth. So both got cleaned out n fresh VP grease in them aswell. They do need new shoulder screws, but otherwise, theyre in great shape.

Aslo got a tekin roc412 3100kv motor, a mamba x esc, n a powerHD stormy 2 servo. It was a bit dirty inside n stuttered badly, but a lil cleanin n shes workin great. Got an axial dingo body with it too. No cracks n minimal scratches. Not sure wat wheels they are, but the tires are 1.9 pitbull rockbeast xl

Idk wat, or if, ill use the motor/trans/tcase on. I dont have any rc4wd stuff

I have 1 of those t cases mine is not rc4wd but they might sell the same unit under the rc4wd brand unfortunately I don't have any other info about it other than it's a Chinese unbranded special sold by just about everyone lol

it looks to me like it uses the same 2 speed setup as the wraith 2 speed just without the 3 gear part

if that makes any sense I didn't disassemble both units side by side but they looked like the same shaft and shift coller

Thanks ferp! Ive searched a few times n come up with different style 'scale' engines, but rc4wd is the only one that matches. As for the trans n tcase, im guessin china aswell. Either way, i made out prettt good on the deal by gettin those rockjock axles. Ive got another deal made with him now. Buyin 2 more crawlers from him. Ones an old tamiya bruiser n the other one im not sure, never seen one that style before

Looks like NCF24A and NCJ24 are no longer working - but NCF24 is, and should be valid until April 30th.

Does anyone know if the codes are a "one shot" per account or if they can be used multiple times by the same account?

FYI despite the NCF24 code stating that it was valid until April 30th, it no longer works.

RPP pretty much always has 10% off though.

Mostly Treal order for the Green Pro Circuit Promoto build coming soon. Still waiting for a few items to arrive before I start.
Ordered via Amain using the NCF24 code (did not apply to the LOSI Black Body Panels.
I see RedCat is no longer included in Coupon use at Amain also.

Bought a new clutch for my 87 f250 4x4. It was gettin pretty bad. At 55-60, go to pass somebody with a bit too much juice, she would overpower the clutch.

After tearing into it, the 2nd clutch of its life was done 7-20-06. The truck has well over 200k, if not 300k on it. My uncle wasnt easy on it either. Had a habit of slippin the clutch, plus we pulled a trailer that was well ober the legal load limit with it.

Got the new clutch in, almost to purdy to put in there, n the trans back in. Tomorrow, gotta pick up a gasket for the tcase n trans mount

Not my latest purchase, but one of the coolest things. TRX4 2wd transfer case for the LC80, after being on the list for half a year. I'm still on the list for a 2nd.

Not crawler related (or, sorta-kinda "is it"...lol), not RC related, not even automotive related. But, been wanting this for a while...now, time to build it.
