Basic questions...

Is this a comp rig or "run for fun"?

Are you running in water/mud or dry conditions??

If comp rig in dry:

Holmes or Br00d motor (not engine....). Likely a 35 turn.
Servo, HiTec, 7955 or 7950. Stay away from the 7954.
Get a Castle 10A external BEC.
Servo horn, either GHRacing (Golden Horizons Racing) or Robitronics

Radio, hacked GT3B/GT3C from LosiKid.

ESC.....Holmes BR-XL, Castle microPro Sidewinder. Both use the same Castle Link as the CC external BEC.

Battery....use a 3S LiPO....not LiFE or NiCD/NiMH..... Connector of choice (Deans at a minimum). Get Thunderpower, Elite, etc.

Charger, I use & recommend a Venom ProCharger.

This is just a 'run for run' rig, I will likely stay away from mud/wet conditions until I get the hang of running the rig and pulling it apart and putting it back together. Oh and my bad on the engine (motor  ).

Thanaks for the input....

I did not know one could hack the Flysky GT3c Remote Transmitter. I am glad I ordered one off amazon. I may have to check it out.....

would also stay away from the Traxxas servo for crawler use - while they are "waterproof" they dont have much torque (only 125 oz-in), which means you would have issues with steering in awkward/tight spots. They are great for shortcourse trucks, but not crawlers.

I, Personally, would go with the Savox.
We (the other half and I) use this one: Savox SC0251MG Digital Servo in both positions on our Redcat RS10 crawlers (the stock servos are junk), and I also have one for my 67 Ford F250 build - not quite as much torque as the one you listed at 222 oz-in, but not bad either, and a whole lot cheaper at about $40.
